Like graphing calculators? Me too. Watch me unbox these machines I just received.
Shout out to LGR for the introduction format. I promise I won't make it a habit.
Errata: I mistakenly state that the Casio fx-CG50 uses an ARM based processor, but it actually uses a SuperH (SH-4) CPU.

Bruh I had to look up an unboxing video for the Casio cg50 because I was like I can't be the only one about to blow a gasket trying to open it.

Bro is literally me at the moment. I'm glad I picked it up tho. I think 80 bucks is a decent value.

The Casio is actually based on the SuperH architecture, making the cpu a cousin to the one in the Sega Dreamcast.

What I don't like about rechargeable batteries (HP Prime) is: 1. Limited mobility & use of the calculator while charging the battery. 2. All rechargeable batteries in the world have limited life and its capacity gradually decreases with time, making the use of those devices very uncomfortable. 3. Some rechargeable batteries are difficult to replace by new ones once dead, some are impossible to replace and some others are not available after some time, forcing you to buy a new device. Because of all what I mentioned above, I find much more convenient and practical the use of calculators that are powered by conventional AA or AAA alcaline batteries (you can always carry with you a spare pack, if not they are very easy to find on near shops, they are not degrading their capacity over time and when needed to be replaced you get a full charge in just few seconds with immediate unlimited mobility).

I 100% agree with all of this. I had a TI-NSpire CX CAS in my collection for a while but I did not own it for a whole year before the battery life became unbearable. I often go long periods without turning my calcs on until I need them for a burst of activity, and with this use case it was just painful to use. I would have had to keep the device plugged in 24/7. I actually ended up donating it to goodwill because I was just sick of looking at it.

The HP Prime's battery is really easy to access and you can get a replacement off Amazon for really cheap if you ever need to replace it. I still understand your concerns about the limited mobility. That's why I always carry a massive battery pack with me everywhere.

@@KrazyCouch2 That's fine, but in 10 years time, will those replacement packs still be available on Amazon? What about in 15 years time? 20 year's time?

You should make more of these videos, I really like calculators and I recently started collecting! One reason is I like math but then another one is they are cheaper than collecting something like watches or cars. At least I can use them round the clock for something actually useful.

其實這些高階計數機可以用在日常實例的地方或許很多,但我們還是沒有發現到怎樣計一些數應用在實質環境中去。

Zilog is the manufacturer. Z80 is the Processor model. That'd be like calling an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X an "AMD 3700X". It's a Zilog Z80.

I think that it might be charged as felony when someone publicly announces that TI firmware security keys was hacked and He will use that same hack to sign illegal firmware as in this video.

The legal precedents set surrounding the use of reverse-engineered signing keys protects private citizens' rights to crack their own devices. It is more-or-less assumed that doing the same as a for-profit organization is not protected, and would result in civil charges; but this has never been tested in the court of law. TI-Education has actually updated their signing keys for cracked models, so any models that were manufactured after these cracks were released tend to be immune to the crack; they would need their new signing keys likewise brute-forced, and no one is doing that work. Regardless, the legal language that allows for the enforcement of firmware protection exists in clauses in the end-user-license-agreement, making it a matter of civil law, as opposed to federal law. In the case of an individual citizen, such as myself, these clauses have proven unenforceable in the court of law.

That appears to be an anti-theft device that you pulled out of the battery compartment of the TI-83 Plus at 4:03. I believe it's designed to trigger an alarm if someone tries to walk out of a store without having it deactivated at checkout.

I was lucky enough to have been given a casio cg50 for free and I found a ti-83 plus for 10$ at a goodwill. They both work fine but I prefer the 83 because i know how to use it better, plus I'm gonna put games on the casio

Which one do you prefer and why between the HP Prime and the Casio fx-CG50?
@lilbits3136
@lilbits3136 4 жыл бұрын
mauricio lacruz I am heavily leaning the Casio of these two when talking about stock firmware. I feel like casio’s interface is not only snappier, but uses more informative UI elements, providing more instant and intuitive access to information in a smaller space. [Edit]: I also find myself preferring the case style of the Casio over the HP Prime. It feels better to me in my hand. The AA batteries in the Casio also is more to my liking, but that is a personal preference. The slider also feels better when removing and replacing and can be placed on from either direction so you can't accidentally try to put it on upside down. They’re both still new enough to me that I can only offer this as an initial impression.
