The short answer is cost. We priced the guitar up with his signature pickups and after all different parts and people are involved it ended up being cheaper for a consumer to buy his sig pickups direct and mod themselves. Just how things are. Chris wanted his guitar to be in reach of as many players as possible so we worked on a custom set and he's really happy with how they sound, and how the gold covers work with the guitar. And if anyone did want to fit other pickups they can.
