I speak English as my second language. I've been searching for a Bible that is portable and good quality and this one just looks perfect for me. Also, the ESV is one of my favorite English translations of the Bible. Thank you Tim for this video.

As a preacher, my favorite is the NIV Giant Print Compact Bible by Zondervan. Love it so much I have three of them so that I will always have one at home or at work or on the road. Easy to read and refer to from the pulpit or even when holding it at a distance while preaching.

I have a black genuine leather thinline NASB reference with 8pt font that I love ($25 back in the day). I churched it up a bit with red art gilding and 3 navy blue ribbons for that nice classic look haha Good stuff, great review, as always!

I ended up paying full price for this Bible on Amazon, but it’s still one of if not my new favorite! I agree that pushing the text out of the gutter and leaving notes and footnotes out of the text is a great idea, and coupled with the single column format, it approaches being like a readers Bible. I’ll agree with others in the comments that, if it were slightly larger and had a larger font size, it would be a near perfect Bible

I was planning to get a copy of this as I'm starting to appreciate single-column Bibles, but I realized my Personal Size ESV Study Bible already has this format (plus the bonus study notes and companion maps and illustrations). I just need to get used with the weight but overall, it's really portable.

I have this in a different TruTone cover! Really really good quality for the price. Very portable for me, yet easy to read. I added in two more ribbons I took from two other ESVs. I've been thinking of having a leather sleeve made for it someday. It's worth the expense for that!

My Thomas Nelson NET Leathersoft Bible is NICE. Great text block, comfortable in my hand. After this year's read-through, I might get it rebound, since it's getting a little wobbly in the binding.

My favorite non-premium Bible has to be my ESV new classic reference Bible. It's cowhide over board and has every box I can think of checked off. For a genuine leather Bible, I got it for very inexpensively.

Tim, this is a good idea. The premium Bibles are awesome, but it is good to see the really nice affordable Bibles as well. I actually wish that more Bibles would put those cross references in the gutter. It looks like a great idea to me. Thank you!

Hi Tim, Thanks for the video! I just noticed that format and Bible a couple of days ago and I did some research and found out that a new one is coming in February. It’s the ESV Personal Reference Bible (TruTone, Quiet Forest, Ornament Design) Do you know if this new one is the same exact that the one you showed in the video. Thomas Nelson NKJV personal size Giant Print edition. End of verse reference 2006 printing. It has been a great Bible. Easy to carry and use everyday. I’m waiting on a AE Bibles rebind of it right now.

Please keep in mind that $50 is a big spend for many people. And if I gave $200 or $300 I might want to purchase a compact Bible, a study Bible and a wide margin Bible. So the reviews of the standard bibles is huge to many people. ❤

Two of my top 3 favorite bibles are cheap bonded leathers. Mainly from the story with them. Like Tim says if you love that Bible you will use it more.

I was looking at this Bible, but I decided not to get it because the font size is just too small to be comfortable. After deep research, I found the ESV Classic Reference Bible (TruTone only) for ~ $30, which is a great deal in my opinion. The quality of the textblock is surprisingly good. I would recommend it for someone who wants to get a rebind.

I have two favorite non-premiums: NKJV Large Print VBV Reference Maclaren (black leathersoft); and CSB Apologetics Study Bible (navy leathertouch) If I get the pennies saved; that CSB would make a killer rebind. 10 pt. font, yet not marketed as large print. Black letter text. Almost Quentel dimensions.

These in the single column format: "readers' style", probably the finest economy bibles available. The paper is a little rougher and yellow-grey, which blends the ghosting enough to minimize it considerably. The single column format keeps the pages full enough that anything not totally line matched isn't stacked five pages deep and obvious. The binding is floppy enough you don't have to fight to get out of the gutter, but what's in there is the footnotes, not the important text. If these had the same features but higher gsm and a size bigger, I'd be 100% satisfied. Rough times ahead and the marriage act coming will likely roll into the targeted divestment strategies movement and cause a lot of publishers to poison new editions with woke updates, stock your extra bibles now. 501c.3, church banks, church and bible publishers, audits for everyone, China could just say no more cheap printing for Christian propaganda, etcetera. Plus the dollar failing, recession, and tariff wars, get them now!

I love your videos, but I dislike it very much when you toss the boxes those Bibles come in. Jews just do the opposite with the Torah scrolls. We cover the Scriptures with honor. It's not idolatry, just reverence and respect.

I store my bibles in the bible specific box it came in, if the box is decent. More pragmatic. It keeps them from getting damaged by pests, pets, children, and so on.

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen one, but the 2019 ESV New Testament (ISBN-10 ‎1433565692) is six dollars for a hardcover and less than 20 for the true tone and it is fantastic for people that like to have a new testament. Because it’s a hand size New Testament, Font is 9.5 i think and the paper is like regular book paper… like 80 GSM or something. I love having a new testament song because they’re so hard to come by I bought three just I figured that would last me for the few years I have left on this earth.
