I like how they substituted the plastic parts with metal. Great quality all around it seems. Although the 4 screws on the stop piece could have been bolts or allen heads or something less mundane and recessed or hidden..

I can hear the brass nut & bridge right away! It really gives each and every string it's own distinct tone. I kind of think of it as "a HIGH DEF" sound! Aside from that, these guys REALLY thought out the entire layout of the guitar! EVERYTHING IS TOTALLY CUSTOM and has NO OFF THE SHELF COMPONENTS! REALLY GREAT REVIEW DARRELL! Keep em' comin' brother! God bless and take care...

My only gripe would be the exposed truss rod end, a local builder to me puts the adjuster in fretboard too but he makes a cover out of the fretboard off cut to keep it looking clean whilst keeping the access. But seriously that's a monster bit of kit, everything about it looks incredible. As always top playing on your end and awesome vid sir.
@micemr762 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Almost like it's not meant to be played up there...why the last fret then?
@stanphillips72772 жыл бұрын
I couldn't afford it anyway 😂 but , I considered the exposed truss rod adjuster and thought about the dust and grime that could very well get down into it and, I considered playability as well. The former could present a problem in time I think but, the latter, playability might be something akin to a scalloped feel. I feel like they thought of everything else, why would they have left it uncovered if it were going to effect playability? I love the adjustable nut and, for that matter everything about the design if you're looking for something unique to add to a collection but, I wouldn't want it as my sole guitar. 8 lbs. Is a deal breaker for me and my back! Much too heavy. I watch these high end unboxings as if I were looking at a vintage $35,000 Strat or something anyway. It's just fun to check out what's being innovated by different designers . I actually relied on DBGs for choosing my guitar. I spent a couple of months online in 2020 and, his "Yamaha Pacifica vs. Squier Affinity" was instrumental (no pun intended right 🤣) in my deciding on Squier Affinity SSS. That was my price range and I've still got it along with a Fender LT25 Modeling amp. Nice little practice amp. Built in effects, all w/adjustable gain,chorus, delay , and reverb. One of em' is a simulated acoustic that gets ya' pretty close. I just wish it had switched rather than a single knob to go between effects. The price was right. Got a Fender gig bag, capo, strap, cord, strings and picks all for $480.00 from a local shop here in Miami. My only regret is had I been more patient I'd have gone through Sweetwater. The 45 day trial period would have slowed me to check out a Jackson w/a Floyd Rose locking system in the same price range. Or the Ibanez Az series is in the same price range. I'm content for now. It's a made in China SSS in Quick Silver. It was that or black. I like black so I chose the Quick Silver 😂 It's cool though, the finish doesn't effect playability but, living in regret is no fun so since I'm the only one who seems to go back and forth on the finish, Ill wait for my ship to come in and take it from there 😂 Long response, my pain meds are kicking in . 😂 Take care John, see you around brother ✌️❤️🎸🎶🙏

It seems like there are really multiple generations implemented in VG. I remember how an older school brother drove an East German semi-acoustic instrument of exactly the same shape into the oven. About 5 years was the resource of this model from the time it appeared on sale until it completely disappeared from view (40 years ago). I'm not talking about "individualized" hardware, but at this price, could it still be something more than Alibaba's small batch production?!
