Unboxing A New 100 Hands Standard Shirt and Gold Line Shirt - Q&A

In this video, I do a little unboxing of my recently arrived 100 Hands shirts: a navy chambray machine-made Standard Shirt and a white, hand-made Gold Line shirt. For both shirts, I made almost no changes to the fit, I'm quite happy with the "tailored fit" block. For the details of the Standard Shirt, I specified the shirt with The Armoury's spread collar, conical cuffs and no placket, which is a departure from my usual shirts which are normally with a button down collar and a placket. In the case of the Gold Line shirt, I used even more dressy details such as a covered placket and I also significantly reduced the cuff diameter so I could have closely fitted French cuffs. I'm in the mood to wear more cufflinks again so it was about time I made some shirts with French cuffs!

I agree completely about the benefits of a smaller French cuff. I hate when they're too big to allow the jacket sleeve to fall naturally over them without getting caught, as most are off-the-rack. The only maker whose French cuffs I like OTR is Ralph Lauren, so all of my French cuff shirts are either from him or are MTM. Both of yours turned out lovely!

A small cuffed french cuffed shirt is such a good idea! The ones I have always get stuck in the jacket sleeves, would be nice with a smaller one who slides around like a normal cuff

Congratulations on your 2 100 Hands shirts....l love French cuffs shirts...since churches have been closed..I miss wearing a French cuff shirt with a suit for Sunday services......cufflinks as long there are tasteful looking..you will be good to go...congratulations again on your two 100 Hands shirts...people are already saying if Mark Cho is wearing 100 Hands I better get on board and buy some...😀😁😃..peace..it's cold in N.Y. right now.....

Here in Australia I am pretty sure 99.99% of men wouldn't know what a French Cuff shirt was... But..! I love them, and agree whole heartedly that they should come back with great gusto.

This is good advice, I had one French-cuff shirt (ordered by mistake actually) but I did not like the bulky and hard “extra” material. Now keeping the cuff narrow and small would make it much more convenient.

I've long forgotten that some higher-priced shirts (from Arrow/Manhattan?!) used to come in boxes like the one shown here! Very interesting to see them again in 2021!

normalizing french cuffs w/o a tie, as a playful rather than dressy part of the outfit would certainly allow more people to start wearing them again - there are so many modern takes on cufflinks that preserve the character but aren't you traditional gold/wool ball/signet themed ones, which in turn makes them a lot easier to wear in less formal settings (jacket still required IMO) cheers

Mark, you need to wear a tie with look #2. Otherwise you look too much like a Banking guy or a Hollywood star going on a talk show. Jokes aside, I really like the smaller french cuffs. Beautiful shirts.
