My family has a little booklet about my great great grandparents (born in the 1830s) and talks about their parents & siblings, & kids. It talks about how they met, and a lot of cool stories. It would have been so awesome to have them on video, getting to see them smile (instead of old black & white photos). Hear them laugh, see their mannerisms, etc. I think your future kids, grandkids, & so on would love to watch your journey & see what the it's like to live in our times.

I see you're already familiar with the journey from Houston up Hwy 6 to Waco from the Dr Pepper video. I prefer that drive over I-45 going between Houston and DFW areas. If you take the same route to Ft Worth, you may want to stop at Slovacek's on I-35 in West, TX. (I think exit 353 or 354). The town of West is proud of their Czech heritage Slovacek's not only has excellent homemade baked goods, bread, and kolaches, but also butchered meat and sausages. You'll probably want to take some home on the way back.

If you’re going to Ft. Woth, go to Goldee’s BBQ! BEST BBQ EVER! Get there early! My wife, our son and I got there at 8:30am and there were 25 people ahead of us in line. By the time they opened the doors, there were 100+ people behind us in line! They provide camping chairs so you don’t have to stand the entire time before they open.
