how has it held up? I'm on the verge of getting one and I had read on amazon that peoples usb connector breaks and people cant get their files, although I would think they could just get the sd card out and use a reader but maybe they are having issues with internal storage. Have you had any issues? I would be so upset if I lost my recordings bc I will use it for music, also is the speaker it has as loud and clear as an iPhone or just a regular phone for example?

It still works great. I use it everyday. I have no problem with the usb. You can always add a micro sd card and keep your recordings on there so you wouldn't ever lose them. The speaker is loud enough, probably not as loud as an iPhone, but I usually play my recordings back on my computer. Thanks for watching!

Whether wav is good or MP3 is good for evp sessions becase MP3 cut all lows an d highs. I am confused whther MP3 is good for evps. While recording can we listen simultaneously

we can record at 4 modes - lpcm 44.1 or mp3 48, 128, or 192 kbps. Do you have recommendations of which one to use?

I've been doing ITC research for about 12 years. The recording mode I choose depends. If I'm trying to see if anything is present, I'll put it in LP mode (the lowest) ask three questions, re-listen with my ears. Give a good amount of pause between questions (4-5 seconds) so you don't talk over something. If you find an anomaly, go to high quality. I like to use two recorders every time, to back it up. One on LP, one on high quality. I actually use the old ICD-PX720... It rocks, also Sony.

Sometimes the best recordings you'll get will be on the lowest mode, I think different entities have different energies, you just have to play around and see which one works. On LP, always announce that this is a short recording so they know to talk or not.

Dude I have the new version the Sony pcm a10, it records in 96 esc 24 bit. Check it out. I use field recorders and some old school recorders like the famous Panasonic rr dr60 for my evps.

I have a Sony DVR and have captured an EVP after a couple of dozen tries . I set it on record and left the room for 15 minutes .I was alone in the house , no tv , radio or smartphone on . When I played it back , at the 4 minute mark I heard what sounded like a voice talking for 10-12 seconds .Very creepy . I could not understand what was being said .Too low . I record in wav mode
