Great unboxing video as always Doc! According to the book the Buffalo knife is either 1969 or 1970 I believe. Production started in 1969. The dot system only started in 1971 on the P172. If it was a 10 dot with 70’s stamp it would be a rare 1 of 600 that Case cutlery accidentally made in the 1980 without the lightning S. Hope this is some help. God bless you Sir and I’m sure Mr Wade will treasure it.

I appreciate your channel and watch regularly. Just a note though, Buck has a factory in China since 2000. So not strictly an "American made" product. Like so many companies, they did sell out in the name of profits. Just like Gerber and Schrade. Keep up the fine work!

Man I love that blaze orange buck 110 I’m going to have to get me one of those I’ve always wanted a Buck 110 and I kept looking at the wooden handles didn’t know they had one with a belt clip and I love orange. Doc, @5:20 that thumb stud also functions as an "emerson wave" which is a feature that allows for rapid deployment when pulling the knife out of your pocket. You should look up a little video or 2 on it. Really cool piece of knife history with that feature.

Good morning doc, WOW it's Christmas everyday for you and for us too. Loved that western knife. I got another question for you, if you don't mind answering, which pocket would you choose just out of sheer enjoyment and pleasure. Not thinking about survival or camping just an everyday carry pocket knife that you enjoy having in your pocket and slicing an apple or whatever else needs cutting. I really love my Case Backpacker aluminum handles and stainless steel blade. Lock blade and stays razor sharp. Pattern M1051. Thin and light with a lanyard hole. 1986. Great Question!

The ik company is imperial I think in the 20s it was called that I bought one here a while back that had that tang stamp my had a main blade and a flat screw driver blade with a can opener with the easy open blade on the main blade i got it for 20 think i did good

Your right Kev, G-10 on the Recon 1 I have them all with the triad locks that put Cold Steel on the world map as the strongest locking knives on the planet! you can hang 800 to 900 pounds on them blades before the triad lock breaks!!

Cold steel makes cheaper bladed knives in other Country's but most of the CPM blade steel knives are made in America. you can get the Recon 1 in Magnacut in America made here.

Those are the old versions of the AK and Recon. They redesigned them a few years later and put Tri-Ad locks in them. Those are vintage classics with the ultra lock they don’t make that version anymore.
