The Kawai ES120 "Speaker EQ" is On by default in order to make the tone much brighter and unfortunately thinner. This is done because the speakers are under the chassis and they think it needs brightening for the sales showroom. However, for a fuller, warmer more robust tone turn Off the Internal Speaker EQ and save it that way. "Speaker EQ" also affects the Line Outs!

I have just got the Kawai es120 and the sound looks for me thin, as if someone has recorded it on the phone) Could you tell, what settings besides the off EQ do you use to make sound brighter? This is all apparently besause of the speakers underneath. What was the reason to place them there, I wonder?)

Excellent demonstration and playing. I was planning to purchase the ES120, but I cannot find one here in the Philippines. They only have the ES110, and it may be a long time before they have any ES120 units to purchase here. Digital pianos for sale in the Philippines are a dismal selection.

thank you for showing us - that the ES-120 does not include the sturdy F-10H pedal like it's predecessors did, but a small plastic thingy.

That downgrade from a quality pedal to a plastic one is so disappointing! Makes it worth hunting for any new ES110 still available out there. The minuscule upgrades and extra action cushioning is nothing compared to a full blown pedal.

At 7:08 you shred the screws. Make sure to turn down the clutch setting (the big black dial) on your screwdriver to prevent this next time!

I tested the ES-120 and I like more the touch and sound from the ES-110. Everything else the ES-120 has upgrades, but I think the original sound from the ES110 is special, comes with a much better pedal, and its 200€ cheaper. I hope some day Kawai includes a small display in this basic starting pianos.

Hola Rubén, el ES110 lo venden muchísimas tiendas online en España por 550€ todavía. La verdad es que yo tuve un ES110 como segundo piano porque aparte tengo un MP7SE, y lo que me parecía increíble era el precio que tenía, para la calidad de sonido de piano que trae, la acción del teclado que tiene, el acabado de las teclas, el peso, y el pedal profesional que trae de serie para ser un piano básico. De hecho en todas las comparativas sale ganador contra sus competidores de Yamaha P125, Roland FP30, etc. Lo vendí hace unos meses pensando en comprar el ES120 porque daba por hecho que sería mucho mejor. El caso es que el ES120 me decepcionó un poco ya que me gustaron menos los pianos que trae, que los del ES110, y encima de subirle el precio le bajan tremendamente la calidad del pedal de sustain que viene con el piano. Su precio es de 777€ (220€ mas que el ES110). Por otro lado con este precio elevado se aproxima al del Kawai ES520 que es mucho mejor piano, en todos los sentidos. Entre otras cosas trae display oled, mas potencia de altavoces y muchas m´s funciones, y su precio es de 950€, así que antes que un ES120 por 777€ me plantearía el ES520 por 950€ o el ES110 por 555€. Al ES120 Le han agregado el SK Grand Piano, pero a mí no me gusta cómo suena y el EX Concert suena demasiado metálico, me gusta mucho mas como suena en el ES110. Sin embargo el ES120 como pros, trae muchas más cosas que el ES110 y es más cómodo de manejar porque trae botones directos como el del transpose, bancos de sonidos, bluetooth audio y midi, que el ES110 solo trae bluetooth midi y no trae tanto botón directo. En definitiva, es mejor piano, pero para mi gusto cuesta demasiado para lo que aporta comparado con el ES110. Yo creo que antes que el ES120 miraría el Roland FP30X (precio incluso inferior) y en Kawai me iría a: ES110-ES520-ES920 o MP7SE, dependiendo de tu presupuesto.

The ES120 has the same problem as ES110. The moment you place the piano on the original piano stand, the keys 11-23 will start to hit the case louder than clapping your hands. Such a flaw in the case design. I returned my ES110 to the service. Don't buy this piano unless you test it on the original piano stand!!!

Could i ask if the piano is good without the original stand ? I was planning to put It on a x stand. And an other question, you know any other piano that can compete with classical repertoire at this price tag ? ( I need It to have a midi usb out, that's why i don't want the es 110) Thanks in advance for your time of you reply.
