I’ve been bingeing a lot of betta vids since I decided to get a betta…yours is the only one I didn’t increase the playback speed or skip through. I love your editing, music and transitions. Kinda sad the algorithm didn’t show me your channel until now. I’ve subscribed and I look forward to supporting you!

Great educational video, your not using the ceramic nor charcoal for filters. Please show what exactly you are using as a replacement.. Ma y thanks, Pete

They sell that filter floss polish pad thing at local pet stores that carry the same tank. I replaced mine with an aqua clear size 20 sponge square thing, fits perfectly and filters well.

Just saw a beautiful betta as I was looking for saltwater tanks( nano and big). Reviewing this so I can go get that betta and this is truly THE BEST OPTION out there. Right everything and heater?!? Thank you for review.
@BryanLa2 жыл бұрын
this is a good kit. If I kept bettas and had enough space for one I would utilize this kit. As for heater, I use the same heater in my aquascape aquarium and it works fine. I'm a fan of the fluval spec aquariums which is kind of what this tank is based off of, and when I kept Pico reefs back in the day I used to use fluval spec tanks and I never had an issue with them. Then again, you can also keep a betta in a simple 10 gallon tank, sponge filter, and a generic brand heater and it can live a happy life. It's up to you to determine what's the "best option" for you.

The replacement sponge for. The chamber. I’ve only found few stores in us or Amazon stocks it. I’m from australia though. Very little companies have it here. I have the beta kit too, got it recently. But I just bought aqua one big filter piece and just cut to size

Nice! Yea we eventually swapped the sponge for a coarse one from a bigger filter

Thanks for the wonderful review. Im undecided if I should buy this or the Biorb Life 15 Aquarium with LED Light - 4 Gallon. Any thoughts in comparison? Much opinion appreciated. Cheers!

I’d say Fluval. I don’t have much experience with the biorb, but the way this Fluval tank is set up, it’s good for bettas IMO

Can this tank be used for planted RCS?
@BryanLa2 жыл бұрын
It could, but shrimp could get stuck in the filter if they’re too young. My friend has cherry red shrimps in his setup now with the betta

thanks for a really good informational video on this tank, Im probably going to give it a try in the very near future, as I havent had a betta in a long time, and miss them,
@BryanLa Жыл бұрын
glad the video helped! just remember for these compact setups they require a little more maintenance than larger setups, like say for example a 10 gallon or so.

Any tips on the hole in the middle of the top? I’m nervous about my betta jumping out.
@BryanLa9 ай бұрын
at some craft stores there's "sewing canvas' that's clear, its like a really fine mesh people use for sewing fabric. it can be cut to size and placed in the middle. that's what I would use
@BryanLa9 ай бұрын
its plastic and comes in a lot of colors. but clear should be best

So you set the tank up substrate free and the plants that are in the tank now don't need to root in substrate?
@BryanLaАй бұрын
those Plants don’t need substrate

How do you know the heater is on

There’s usually a light indicator on heaters to let you know it’s on or off

extremly wholesome! also i picked up 1x delhzi and 1x ornate AND 1x black ghost knife yesteday, have you ever had black ghost knifes ? so far i've seen him for about 20 seconds in the last 24 hours.. xD
@martijndewaal81692 жыл бұрын
Yeah you will probably see it very little. Bgk arent the best tankmates for bichirs though. The white stripes on the tail will be a target. Bichirs will think the tail its a pray. So be careful.

nice!! and thats normal for the ghost knives to hide all day. I used to keep one and i gave it a clear tube to hide in,. it worked out for me because it would hide all day but I could still see it

@@martijndewaal8169 yup thats correct! the ghost knifes bright white tip is super vulnerable. ive even seen some without the white tip because it got bitten off. gotta keep that part safe from predators!

A bit small .. wish Fluval led the way and did a 5g, or even a 7g I’ve had 3 inch + betta, that’s far too small
@BryanLa2 жыл бұрын
I personally like this size tank for Bettas because it's easier for them to find food; especially if the tank doesn't have bottom feeders or a clean up crew. I used to breed Bettas and would find that single bettas in 5 gallons or 10 gallons would have a difficult time trying to find food and most of the time it just rots on the bottom of the aquarium. But this is also coming from a person that used to breed bettas in cups and small tubs lol... My old bettas would have loved this setup.

I moved pretty far from my friends home but the tank is still up and running. Betta got a bit bigger and the plants are pretty grown now.
@Scott356-m2u2 жыл бұрын
It's far too small for a betta. Pick up a 5 gallon from any pet store for around 10 to 15 dollars. Your betta will thank you. I think I spent around $85 setting up my 10 gallon including the price of the betta, tank, filter, heater, soil, and live plants. It's crazy to spend this kind of money on a tank that isn't even big enough for the fish. I wouldn't keep my mystery snails in this.
