Good to see you picked up this boat, I bought it for my Nephew last June, it was a great beginner boat, then I bought the standard SR80 with the plastic rudder and prop to my surprise it was way faster than the pro. I have bought the higher KV motor and coupler/stuffing tube/wire drive and prop from the standard SR80 and the Pro is now at least as fast as the SR80. I have got some bigger turn fins coming this week as the boat is unstable in the turns. Overall they are fantastic fun boats with great reliability and value for money.

The cheaper model is faster than the pro, how stupid is that!

@@RCBoatBitz Yes it's mad really, I am running 4000mah 4s packs, I have seen guys run heavier packs but they can load up the wire drive to breaking point.

Good performing boat for the price, but watch out for the hatch tab snapping. Like you said that's where the flotation is, so if it comes off then the boat is going down! Good idea to reinforce the tab as they DO snap, and also add flotation to the hull. Maybe not a bad plan to link the hatch to the hull with some fishing line too in case they get separated in a crash.

Yes im going to put a pool noodle up the front and will be taping the lid down before every run on 4s. Thanks for the input friend

You will like it ,very stable and easy to drive. I lost one , got it cheap for $200 . Dodgy esc , blew up in the middle of a lake in Portland. Started swimming after it but wind took it faster than i can swim. They're not a bad boat if you don't buy a factory second. Still have 2.

Yes i certainly remember you telling me you picked up a used one and liked it. Almost daily people are asking about upgrades for these things and thats why i bought it. Prop shaft has a 5mm stub!!!

We have 2 more , we like them for a cheap hull. Takes a beating to. Wife ran one up the river bank where they were all fishing. Half fell off their chairs and half jumped in the lake. I nearly fell in from laughing. Didn't damage the boat at all. They go OK, about 70ks , can only imagine how good you will make it go. Best 4s boat I have is an old Aquacraft super v27 . It's about 60 mph stock. So old you have to power the receiver with battery's. I left it original, another excellent boat.

@@petergoodwin2465 the super v27 does approx 100kph on only 4s, wow that is a keeper! i wonder what happened to aquacraft models, seemed to dissapear off the scene about 10 years back, probably killed off by traxxas advertising dominance
@petergoodwin24657 ай бұрын
@RCBoatBitz horizon took them over. Wish they were still around. They had really nice boats , the super V27 is very stable and goes well. I didn't touch anything all stock. Even has a bumper strip around the hull to protect the fibreglass. If I see another one I'm grabbing it.

I chucked an inrunner and RCBB ESC in one, modded so a single pack sits in the middle, great grab and go boat that jumps out of the water on 6s. Biggest pain IMO is the weird size stub, replace with 4mm straight thru + strut so you can put a nice prop on. Common thing with cheap boats it seems? The tab at the front and latch will snap in a big crash, use a lot of tape lol
@RCBoatBitz7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info, is the stub not 4mm then? Ill take the tape with me when i run it tomorrow for sure!

@@RCBoatBitz It has been a while, from memory its a 4mm flex with a 5mm stub. I guess you could ream out a 4.76mm prop, but life is much easier with a new strut and 4mm all the way through. Also, i think its the shape of the canopy that gets it self righting, it will still flip over even with a 6s pack in the middle
