38 hr power reserve is standard for a hi beat movement. The fit and finish on the aquaracer is top notch. Looks much nicer than the Longines hydoconquest. The Tag name is much more recognizable. You can get this watch for under 2k. Ten years from now you can sell for a good amount. Holds its value better than Longines. Oris is nice but average person has no idea about them. Tag heuer aquaracer has much better wrist presence. Very few short comings for what you get.

70DMac thank you for sharing your views. 38 hour power reserve is no longer the industry standard for high beats as they are pushing more to the 42-45 hour power reserve. 38 hrs is acceptable if the watch is under $1000 which this one is not, even microbrands have been able to tune etas and sellitas to get 40-42 hours so Tag should certainly be able to achieve the same or higher level. Granted this watch does have a lot more presence than the HQ but the HQ is half the price with a 65 hour power reserve, Oris is very recognizable in the watch enthusiast community whereas Tag is common and commercial and for name recognition yes its better. I agree Fit and finish is quite nice on this. Check out the new tortoise bezel aquaracer, that one im interested in 😊

@@theopulentlife889 Yes, true. 38 hrs is low compared to most as my Hamilton has an 80 hr reserve but thats because they just slowed down the beats per hour. 42 is more average. I don't read into the watch enthusiast hype being anyone can proclaim themselves as one. Heck, I must be one because I own 12 watches, lol.

Could not agree more. Tag is very unique in its design and very sporty and premium in quality. For me the basic movement and low power reserve is the only disadvantage. That is why I am thinking the quartz version will do the job as it has almost the same level of quality.

Yeah I returned this watch back to the department store after a week as it seemed like a used piece that had been returned before or perhaps the store person packed it in the wrong box, it took them 30 mins to find the "correct" one when I was purchasing it

All thanks to the staff at the department store. So they take off all the stickers and they way these timepieces are handled in the store even when you are purchasing them leads to fingerprints and scratches on the mirrored finish as well which is why I dont recommend buying any store display items at these big box dept chains. They dont do any white glove handling unless its an ultra luxury AD. The result is in front of you.
