Great choice for emergency power needs. Video was done very well. Small details like the explanation of the nuts for the battery terminals will likely help others avoid problems. Thank you.

Proud owner here of my brand new Honda eu70is I couldn’t find in the manual which way the axle attaches so I copied you but it actually goes the opposite way others wise the rubber gasket on the doors catches slightly, I’ll be running Honda 10w30w engine oil in mine from day one for its entire life, I’ve read a lot of people say run mineral oil first to allow engine piston and rings to ware in together to form the best possible seal and engine components to ware together but fully synthetic is too good and doesn’t allow this to happen in the ware in period, I’m no expert but I’m happy to go with this philosophy, I will run a fuel stabiliser to keep excess water out of the system and help protect against ethanol.

Thanks for video and comments !! I’m a little confused on the axle tabs. Your video shows the short tabs pointing towards the stands . A Honda assembly video (the one 4:25 long) says the long tabs point towards the stands. Honda mentions something about the wheels interfering with opening a cabinet door if short axle tabs are towards the stands.

@@triman140 this is a great generator. I haven’t had any problems with my setup. I don’t remember if my wheels are a problem. I had to open the door once to add oil. I’m due for other oil change so I will check it.

Good unboxing video and very thorough 👍. You made the right choice. Absolutely the best Inverter/Gen-Set on the market. I own the EM7000IS purchased back in 2005, have never had any problems. It will run 14 hours at 50% load. Yours being fuel injected will have a longer run time. During the off-season use Stabil to preserve the fuel and run it once a month while powering something to exercise the generator side. The OEM battery is good for a couple of years. Keeping it on a battery tender helps extend the life. Good luck.

If you haven't done it, few good things you can do: use synthetic oil, add a magnetic drain plug and a magnetic dipstick. Also a battery tender is a good option. Those are "cheap insurance. I've done that on my generators since 1999 and one lasted over 20 years of use. That one died recently and was not the motor that failed, was the stator. I own two of those Honda EU7000is, both have all those items mentioned before.

thanks very much for this video. I'm in the process of getting a 7000i and your video was very helpful. The battery setup reminds me of my Honda Jet Skies. Getting the jet ski batteries in and out is a pain in the butt. I want to trickle charge the generator battery when not in use. When shipped from Generator Direct you have to set it all up yourself which is not that difficult. When you buy from a local retail outlet they do all that.

Just block it up to bolt on the axles, tipping the entire unit will put crazy stress on the rubber vibration dampers.

Good video. I would like one, and i was wondering how they come packaged. I was surprised how much you had to do to set it up. I had the EU30IS, and i didn't have to do any setting up. I think it came with a bottle of Honda motor oil. The battery was connected already. I just had to put oil in the engine, and gas in the tank. Extremely reliable generators
