Unboxing and short run of Piko 59013 SmartControl Light Digital Start Set with 2 trains

This is my first step in the digital world of model trains, DCC.
In my humble opinion, it has a lot of advantages and some drawbacks. You gain separate control for each train on the same route but at the cost of time-consuming selecting-the-train-to-control. Of course, this is the weak point of my controller, I'm not pointing at advanced ones - pretty expensive or even multiple controllers, which will do the trick.
Also, DCC locos are available with sounds, a pretty neat feature for most of us. That will be at double the price though...
Anyway, there's no turning back. DCC all the way!

Really superb passenger car... How many passenger coach can the electric locomotive haul? Can it haul 10 similar passenger coaches? What is the width and height of the passenger coach?

I really cannot do this test as I don't have 10 similar passengers' cars nor freight... But from my limited experience, it can haul. I tried with 8 various freight cars and it was a breeze

No, it doesn't have sound, but you can add a DSS decoder with sound. The price is 150 euro per locomotive, which is a lot of money and for me, it doesn't worth

Do you mean if the DCC (Digital Command Control) system will work on analog tracks? Yes, will do. I used recently some old Lima and Mehano tracks for building a loop track, with Piko SmartLight digital controller and it works perfectly fine

Yes, you can. Bachmann have the gauge OO which is the same as HO (16,5 mm) only the name is different... Both ”OO” and ”HO” are DC/DCC 2 wires (negative and positive)
