This is a great design with some very exciting scenarios! The fight over the big barracks (CtR-16, Too Close for Comfort) with FT and demos is quite spectacular in a pounding rainstorm. The paradrop is quite out of control at the beginning of the campaign, for sure. Can't wait to get back to it. Thanks for the unboxes as it reminds me of what I'm missing playing other stuff! Too many games, only one life!

I'm not a tactical guy and have no experience with ASL. I have to say this video whetted my appetite as the Pacific War is one of my areas of interest, the maps look cool (the same guy that did the GCACW series right?)......I might have to give one a try. Lately I have gotten into Great Battles of History and Men of Iron series so starting to shift more to the tactical aide of things, at least temporarily. (Nothing beats a grand scale strategy campaign though!) If I put my toes into some ASL I'd want to find some historical scenarios. do they have those for most conflicts? Vietnam specifically? This game reminds me that I lately saw the movie "They Were Expendable" again - one of the greatest war movies.....not a shoot 'em up but a tragic personal story of the US troops and nurses left behind on the Philippines in 1942. It really gets to me every time I see it. A serious film that proves that sometimes Hollywood can produce truly great films (....sadly not that often). "The Cruel Sea" is another masterpiece movie that comes to mind - Battle of the Atlantic as seen from a British anti-sub convoy aspect. Absolutely great, realistic, riveting drama. (British film, not Hollywood). Thanks for the episode AW

So officially ASL does only WW2 and Korea. Critical Hit does other conflicts but their stuff... does not have a good reputation.

I think you've said that you are not currently playing ASL; do you have any plans to pick it back up anytime soon?

Oh sure, I always intend to. I had started going to the local meetups before they all got cancelled due to COVID. But I am never going to be one of those hardcore ASL players.

@@ardwulfslair If someone was going to be a casual ASL player, they might want to look at the Starter Kits. Most of the flavor of ASL, without all the rules overhead. MMP is working on a Marco Polo Bridge campaign game module for the Starter Kits. Maybe late '22/early '23.
