Those wagons will look fantastic together. A great addition to your collection. I went to a very small show last weekend in Sale ( Tri-ang Society Show) had a great time and meet some great people. I like your self come away with new toys! (R.349 Bogie Chlorine Tank Wagon Boxed, R722 Inter City 2nd class coach with lights Boxed, R332 GWR Clerestory Coach Boxed, R.333 GWR Clerestory Brake coach Boxed, two Tri-ang Coloured light signals (spares/repairs) , R.160 hand uncoupled, a bag of random catenary wires and a suspension bridge to match the one I have on the layout. ( I Planning/dreaming of a bigger layout!!!!) a great day out. It’s odd that you always find something you didn’t realise you needed!!! Great video Sam. Oscar

The EWS is one of my favourite railway companies of the Modern Image (Post-Privatisation, if you will). The company came around when I 4-5 years old.

Those mega boxes remind me of the wood chip cars I see on my local here in the USA. Only real differences are the couplers and the mega boxes are shorter in height.

Hmm... 8 huge, open freight wagons. Here's the idea: fill them up with something heavy, and do a pulling contest. Most of the big diesels should be able to pull them, but i'm more curious of the steamers performance (do to the less driven wheels, and weight).

interesting to see hwo slim those are... i just put a uk "cargowaggon" for britain-continental transport next to a casual german boxcar. the cargowaggon is almost a third less wide than the german boxcar. actually, i would like to have british models too. but the scale of continental and british models is too different. it does not look good. if both were made to scale 1:87 it would look more interesting to see how the trains differ in size due to the british loading gauge being substantially smaller then the german. the smaller loading gauge gives the locos a much more compact look. which i actually like. more than the really bulky german steam locos. there is a class 66 made to scale 1:87. it looks quite strange next to a german diesel. because the class 66 is so narrow, but much longer than the german standard diesels too.

Wasting Money Sam can be a bit of a money waster sometimes. He tries hard not to be, yet there's always something about a model engine that tempts him to, "Buy me now!" One day, Sam visited a Toy & Train Fare that he'd never seen before. There were tables of engines and rolling stock as far as the eye could see. Sam was fascinated. Dan was with him. "Don't go blowing your money away," advised Dan wisely. "Remember you can only buy what you can afford." Sam usually heeded the advice, but this time he wasn't paying attention. Would this turn out to be a catastrophe? Sam looked inside his wallet. He had £100 to his name, and remembered he had to spare some for eats. Bearing this in mind, he tried hard not to get carried away. Looking at the contents of one particular corner table, Sam spied an engine he hadn't yet collected: the Bachmann Henry model from Thomas & Friends. The model was on sale for £50 and he was in mint condition. "Can I get Henry for £40?" asked Sam a little bit cheekily. "Deal," answered the gentleman kindly. Sam paid the bargain price gladly, and had the boxed model put inside a carrier bag so he could carry it safely. So far, so good. Sam's empty tummy rumbled loudly, and he and Dan went for a bite to eat add a toilet stop. Sam had £30 left over. Dan advised him to save it for another Train Fare day. However, Sam went round looking at other tables of models. He found a Hornby model of City of Truro, selling for that exact amount. Oh no! Sam was so in love with the model, he blew the rest of his cash away! Dan was furious with him at first, but then forgave him. "Sorry, Dan," apologised Sam. "I should have listened to you." Dan, smiling, was going to reply when an angry voice got there first. "Have you been wasting your money again, Sam?" Sam cringed and hid behind his best friend. Dan was confronted by Sam's Mother. Dan backed away and disappeared homewards. Sam was in scaldingly hot water. "Yes," he admitted, shamefaced. He showed the angry lady what he'd spent his budget on. "I'm very sorry, Mum. Please forgive me. I'll try not to waste my money again." The lady thought for a moment. "I've heard that one before," she mused. "However, I see you are sorry. Cuddle?" Mother and Son kissed and made up. It was far better to be friends than enemies, that was for sure. Happy ending.
