Amazon has some great gouges for beginners too they were $85 dollars US but they come in a nice wooden box. I'm getting ready to try and make my first kuksa too I just ordered a Shinto rasp today for the outside of the blank I got off Etsy.

The blanks in the kit you bought are for figure carving like foxes ECT or old wizards. Or that's what some of the fellas I watched make out of them.
