X-Out has really good music.

FYI, for some games you can use a kickstart 1.3 ROM "boot disk", it replaces the onboard ROM temporarily. that will make more games work on the A1200. I did use that quite a lot back in the day.

Dragonlance eh? I remember reading those books back in the 80s. Didn't know they were still going...!

The inconsistent sizing of the C64/ Amiga boxes really bugs me and I don't know why.

I seem to remember that all that happened was that every game had to try and make their box bigger than the competition, so the boxes were all constantly growing in size. Hence why most boxes were never the same size. It must have been a delicate balancing act for the publishers to make their box as big as possible, but not too big as in doing so that would make the box more expensive to make and to ship to the distributors, so that cost would come off their bottom line.

Yep, I've always called it "Ex - Out". The sample where it says cross-out in the opening sequence isn't in the C64 version. But I think it did say "Cross-out" on the high score screen.

@@DavePoo2 The music is outstanding on Amiga X-Out, it really nailed that underwater vibe, with crystal clear audio and tunes that matched the frenetic levels. My favourite was Level 2's music; you spend a while going from the shop waiting for the level to load, press fire and your ears get hammered by this wailing guitar. It was awesome. The game over music was great too, it was all great. Just a shame there were only two or three in-game tunes. Really kept the blood pumping as you were dicing with death!
