Unboxing Darwin129 7inch and Install TBS Crossfire Nano Pro rx

DarwinFPV have been hitting it out of the park lately with reliable but low cost builds. Amazing price for a 7inch long range, with bluetooth, 50A, GPS and more. It just needs another amazing addition, the TBS Crossfire Nano Pro rx, which has 20x telemetry range. The Crossfire RC link range is always great but telemetry, in which information is transmitted back to the pilot, often falls short with 25mw on the normal Crossfire Nano.
Howe ver, on the Nano Pro, with 500mw telemetry, we will get much longer telemetry range, and I include an excerpt of a fellow youtuber Tony Hadi Putra showcasing its power where he still got telemetry 11.5km away...

At 13:10 you solder the rx on TX3 and RX3. But the Port is already used by Smart Audio. I followed your video blind and it does not work now. How does your system work that way? I use elrs receiver, but it is also the CRSF-Protokoll. So I guess you must have the same problem. According to the manual the receiver should be soldered to TX2 and RX2, but RX2 is not marked propper on the board or the manual.

you are right ..by connecting the rx to rx3 and tx3 the vtx is disabled ..I have connected to rx and tx 4

yes you are right, mine came with a RX installed on uart 2, uart 4 is free so you can use that too.

Was looking at this one. I have 3 inch and 5 inch. Maybe the next step up for long range and cruising would be good.

But wait, on the darwin 129 uart 3 is being used by the VTX, you can see it in your ports section of the video it has smart audio setup on the same uart you selected for the rx. Can you use the same uart for RX and VTX at the same time like that?

I found a bug with how darwinfpv setup this quad in that they installed the GPS onto uart 1. The problem with this is that this can interfere with the usb port and this causes problems when wanting to reboot into the bootloader so you can update the version of betaflight. So what I did was move the GPS onto uart 4 that you can see the pads in the video. Then I was able to reboot into the bootloader and update just fine. So if you're running into this problem. Then that's the solution you need to do. You need to desolder the GPS and move to uart 4

Another Tip. open it all up and conformal coat it. Been doing this for years and have saved a lot of good quality builds

Hi mate I'm in need of some help with my Darwin 129 I don't know how to make it work with my controller I have a radio master T8 with a r81 receiver I have bound to receiver to the transmitter and I have worked out that the switch that used to arm my old drone now does nothing and a different switch arms this drone I haven't put the props on it yet because I don't want it taking off on me I need to make sure it's running properly first I don't know what to do I got it new from a store on line from usa I thought it would be as simple as just binding the transmitter and flying it but I was wrong if you have any advice that would be great.

You can use it but with the advancement of expresslrs which is much cheaper and extreme low latency at 1000hz, I think you are better off with that

Motor Darwin 129 is 2507 1800 kv I already tested to 5 inch it goes well but drain batery fly time short compare to normal standard motor for 5 inch ..

A tx 12 or any controller are just sticks and buttons. What u need to have is the right protocol on ur controller and drone. So if u want crossfire, u have the crossfire receiver on ur drone, and tx12 with a crossfire module.

It's now about 200 U.S for PNP. Crazy to think a year and a half ago it was $129 You can still get it from AliX for about $180 PNP.

Your video is very well presented but factually incorrect. RX receiver requires its own port... Yours will be sharing one (Tx3 Rx3) with the VTX and so will not work. Anybody who follows your tutorial example will also have problems. Either TX4/Rx4 or Tx2/Rx2 should be the right alternative.
