I only just yesterday received my first tube of M. Graham watercolor paint. I live in a very dry climate here in Colorado (United States), so it will be interesting to see how soft or hard it gets as it dries out over time. Very cute demo painting.

I bought M Graham and live in a dry climate. I’ve never had an issue with them in my travel palette. Lovely art!

Hey Julie, that’s great to hear. Did you have to dry them out by keeping them in the open for longer? In my case, they sort of started moving away from the wells in my palette.

One of my favorite brands, except for their Mineral Violet (PV 16), which has inexplicably hardened like a stone, while the rest of the tubes remain fresh and usable.

Love M Graham. Live in humid Florida. Keep the palette with the top off and lightly covered with a paper towel. Even so, don't think it would work for travel. If I ever take it out plein air, will make sure it stays level. Thank you for your review.

I bought M Graham....but not too happy. The complete pan caught mould! I live in Bangalore. Also, one tube was totally dry even when I opened it for the first time.... which is so surprising as honey based paints shouldn't dry out so easily. And the rest caught mould....so basically the entire set is just lying in my cupboard now

I have used these paints for years. They travel perfectly safely and I have never had any kind of "leak" in studio or on the road. In my experience, people who have had leakage have not let the paints dry long enough after filling the palette. The length of time needed depends on one's weather conditions, namely, hot or cool humidity. I live in a year-round humid climate, but my drying time is still a little variable depending on how humid it actually is when I set up a palette. It will take between several days (in a moderate humidity) to a couple of weeks (I've heard.) It is imperative to test for the palette's readiness to use and close. The surface of ready paint will always be SLIGHTLY tacky to touch. It will also depress a LITTLE, like dried gum or tar. One's patience is eventually rewarded by having a palette full of paints that are always juicy and ready to paint at first...no patience required at all for the lifetime of the paint that one has put out. I usually fill a well about half way. I don't know how much longer it would take for a full well to dry. Half a well lasts quite a while though because the always - ready paint makes it less likely that one will waste it.

It depends on the color as well as climate, i.e. Cerulean Blue will dry enough because it's a mineral color, but quins and phthalos can be liquidy even after being in a palette for years. I find it easier to use other brands in travel palettes.
