Thank you for your video. The watch is near to be perfect to me - heavy allrounder. I have been wearing Seiko MM200 SPB207J1 (140th Anniversary "6000pcs limited" version) with Iriomote green dial/black bezel for 1,5 years now and I was thinking a lot about swapping it for probably black version Prospex GMT (SPB383) or this green one (SPB381) to have a complete package with added GMT complication. As I was thinking, I found only 3 positive differences including the GMT hand. There is slightly sloped bezel on the Prospex GMT (similarly to Rolex Submariner) which in my eyes makes the watch a bit sleeker than MM200 with more horizontal bezel. 3rd difference is stealthier date window on the Prospex GMT which makes whole dial a bit more balanced. After all I decided to stay with the MM200's because: dial is cleaner, GMT function is not that vital for me personally, Iriomote racing green dial is perfect green tone which stands right between black and green on Prospex GMTs which I find the most magical factor on the MM200 because it provides you with black and also green dial watch at the same time depending on light conditions. Also different bezel material favors a bit more very hardcoated steel on MM200 which doesn't look/feel so "synthetic" as well. Anyway if I haven't the MM200 decision would be much harder I guess.

I have SPB381 and MM300 SLA023. Based on the pictures of the MM200 I think the metal edge of the bezel is different on the SPB381 with more a coin edge and a slimmer vertical profile similar to a Rolex Submariner.

As far as functionality goes SSK003 is a great travel watch. It has 3 time zones. As a professional pilot I fly to Europe extensively. I set the watch to home time, GMT is set to the 24 hours on the watch face. The cities I travel to on the rotating bezel. Not many watches have this. This is a true pilot watch.

All the watch channels say that a travelers GMT is better for travel so it is really cool to hear how a professional such as yourself uses the GMT function on the SSK and it makes a lot of sense. I was more drawn to the diving bezel on the SPB381 because I get really uncomfortable without a timing bezel. I always thought if I had a GMT with a 24h bezel I could use the bezel for timing in a pinch just but converting the 24 spots to minutes on the fly. This is yet to be tested.

Comparing better for separate video. -Make a scripted video, so the video will much straight-up. Seiko has really come along way since the 80's and 90's. I currently have two in my collection. Marinemaster300 SBDX001 Black face SS and a PADI SRPE99 pepsi dial (turtle). I am thinking of adding a 5 Sports SRPD59 Orange dial with Jubilee bracelet. You can really create a great 12 piece collection of just Seiko's for less than 8k.

Beautiful. There's a lot I like, but a lot I don't like. First, I don't trust 4R or 6R-series movements after my experiences with them performing very poorly and the beat rate of 21,600 is pitiful at this price. I didn't have any issues with 8R movements though. Second, the bracelet and clasp feel cheap. However, the ceramic bezel, hands, and overall case are fantastic. I liked my MM300, but was too thick and sold it after a year. This is manageable, especially for a caller-GMT (which is all you really need)... and that's if you can't add/subtract a few hours. Also glad to see sapphire (but that's a no brainer at $1,000+).

I agree, but there are another side of the coin, the 4r and 6r are essentially the same base and they are cheap to own and service, and you can regulate them pretty close to cosc, i prefer to have mine on the plus side. The 21,6 dont requier service as much and they are quite though. The watch is so nice i could have a timex quartz in it.

I have also had bad luck with 6R movements in the past. My SPB381 is keeping good time so far. I really love the bracelet on this one but agree the clasp is lacking. I am living with the clasp so far. Not sure if I will try to change it out with one of the Strapcode ones I have or try to find and tool-less adjustable clasp I can put on it.

I was recently in Japan and wanted a keepsake for the trip and a GMT to wear while I was there. When I got there I was informed by one of the big chain stores that sells Seiko that the green version of the watch was sold out country wide. I always like the look of these but didn't think I needed one because I have a MM300. In that moment (when he told me it would be impossible to find) I knew my mission for the trip and I had to have it. I bought the only one I could find in about 20 stores I checked and I am super happy with it. This watch is very refined and it is gorgeous. I think it would be a perfect one and done Seiko dive watch. I think both the SPB381 and the SLA023 have their own place in my collection because of the significant size and color difference. I expect the SLA023 will get less wrist time now however.

It is a gorgeous watch. The finishing is superb and the steel is resilient. The three day movement is great for those who use it as a desk diver like me. I am surprised that it's sold out in Japan, I wonder if the color is significant to the Japanese or if they just have a great sense of style. Hope you have many great adventures with it!
