Hello I was just wondering I ordered the same set myself but it doesn't say how much water to put in the tray and do you water regularly originally if you can help me out on the water usage thank you
@CollinsCountry
@CollinsCountry 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Very good questions! I would add about a 1/4 inch of water to the green tray if the soil is dry when you plant the seeds. No need to water again until the plants sprout. Then add enough water to keep the soil moist, but not saturated. The greenhouse effect works nicely to keep the humidity in so I think I was only watering them once a week.... I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have anymore questions:)

A word of caution. Never, ever pick these units up with one hand. They have a habit of flipping apart and scattering contents everywhere. Always use both hands.

One question how do you water?
@CollinsCountry
@CollinsCountry 2 жыл бұрын
+Maria Gonzalez You can water them 2 different ways: 1.) pour the water directly onto the dirt or pull out the clear tray with the dirt and pour the water into the bottom (green) tray and the plants will absorb the water when set back into the green tray. I hope this helps! Watering was easy!

How long did you leave the dome and lights on them?
@CollinsCountry

Hello! I left the lights on until the plants were tall enough that they touched the top and needed the lid off to continue growing:) At that point I was able to plant them directly into my garden:)

I live in Washington state I think zone 8b when should I start seeding?
@CollinsCountry
@CollinsCountry Жыл бұрын
+Francisco Lopez Hello:) Look at the seeds you buy. On the back of the package it will tell you when you can plant them outside (usually when there is no more risk of frost killing your plants and when the ground is warm enough). I usually start me seeds indoors 3 weeks or a month before they can be transplanted outside. But it’s up to you. Some people start them 2 months ahead of time and start in little seed cells like this kit and then transplant into bigger containers indoors and then transplant outside. I find that to me a lot of work. I don’t want to transplant them twice. But it’s up to you:)

I bought one. But no directions enclosed. Do you leave the light on 24 hours a day everyday until seeds sprout? How often do you water them?
@CollinsCountry
@CollinsCountry 2 жыл бұрын
+Sandy Margolin Yes. I have the lights on 24/7. Unless the soil dries out completely, don’t water again until they sprout:) once they sprout water lightly every couple of days… Just enough to keep the soil moist, but not soaking wet which would rotten the roots. These are nice though because if you over water them the water will just drain through the holes and down into the bottom chamber. So you can’t really over water these:) They are pretty fail proof. Good luck!

@@CollinsCountry In four days 3 of 9 plants have sprouted. My issue is, one is so tall already it has out grown the lid. The others are just barely breaking the dirt. It is the Cucumber plant. Can I plant it and keep it under the lights with my other plants? or will I kill it, it I remove it. I have a tendency to kill the plants once they are done germinating, Ughh.

Hola, conviene tener el germinador en un lugar oscuro o en un lugar con luz solar?
@CollinsCountry
@CollinsCountry Жыл бұрын
+Christian Espinoza Hello! It can be in a dark place because it has grow lights:) Those lights produce the light. Once the plants are too tall to keep the lid on they will need to be moved to a location with sunlight because the lids will have to stay off. Good luck! :)

Could you explain how NOT to kill them when transplanting?
@CollinsCountry
@CollinsCountry Жыл бұрын
+Jennifer Coats I feel you here. I always lose a few before I transplant. But my best success is when I get the plants used to being outside before they transplant. On warm sunny days in spring I put them outside, but not in the direct sunlight. I put them in my porch that is covered it in the shade somewhere. Then when I transplant them I transplant in the early morning or late evening, not during the heat and sunny part of the day i hope this helps!
