Hello Paul, your video was a big help. I've been considering a grey vinyl backdrop, but seeing your video helped me to go with grey and white Savage paper and the green screen backdrop. It was particularly helpful to hear you've used it 3 months and it's been great. Thanks again

Thanks for watching, and I’m so happy to hear it helped you. Yes the white backdrop is great because it offers versatility if you have LED color spectrum lights, you can really make it anything you want. Also tucking away the green screen on the ceiling is a game changer. Hopefully it continues to work for you!

Sometimes it's a 2 person job, especially for my green screen. Both people pulling it taut. Yet, the times I've done it by myself, I've done it slowly, and would bounce back and forth from side to side. Also you could tape the ends to the floor for the roll-up, and then remove it on the last bit. Hope this helps!

How much did you measure all together between brackets? My roll is 86 inches and want to make sure i leave enough space
@PaulMcGovernJr
@PaulMcGovernJr 2 жыл бұрын
It about 10.5 feet between the brackets. Mainly because the poles are 10 feet, and the Savage rolls I had are 9 feet. So we measured a little over 10 feet so the extender arms had a couple inches to work with. If your roll is 7 feet tho and you plan on keeping your paper rolls that length moving forward- your brackets should be set a tad over 7, to adjust for the extender arms. Hope this helps!

Good question! So far I haven't had any issues or cracks the last 4 months - the heaviest part is the paper rolls, but even with all three rolls filled on the bars, it's maybe 50-60 pounds. Which I imagine will be fine overall - I've had TVs that weigh heavier on my walls for 7-8 years.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with just drywall...I just put mine up in the garage on studs using concrete tapcon screws for max strength...unfortunately that makes it trickier because it's hard to find studs on both brackets and get them to fit the crossbar (which is not adjustable and mine is an approximately 9 foot bar). The metal poles and paper tubes are heavy so I don't know if they'll hold that well.

Man I need some help. I've set up the single roller system twice now, and have come across the same issue. This one time after a week of no issues I pulled down on the chain and the far side slips out and off the ceiling bracket, resulting in a collapse of the whole system. This second time ripped out the anchors on the side of the pull chain. I have a security camera so I was able to watch back and see exactly what happens - all it appears to me is that the aluminum pipe I have taped to the backdrop pops off the bracket on the far side. Have you ever come across this issue? Know what I'm talking about? Need some help. Thank you.
@PaulMcGovernJr
@PaulMcGovernJr Жыл бұрын
Wow - this hasn’t happened to me specifically- so are you saying the bracket itself came out of the wall? Or the pole slips out of the brackets when pulling the chain? Could be that your putting the plastic brackets in not tight enough into the pole. Are the brackets level on your ceiling? I don’t love the plastic chains that come with it- I’ve considered buying new metal chains.
@paulchristin
@paulchristin Жыл бұрын
@@PaulMcGovernJr Yes brackets are level. Correct, it’s the pole that slips out of the bracket when pulling the chain. Both times it has been the bracket opposite the side of the chain. It seems as though I need to pull down with some force, and that when I do, it has this effect of creating a very subtle bounce, or lift, of the pole on the far end. And, has resulted in the pole slipping out at times. Do you find you have to pull down with some force on the plastic chain to get your backdrop to roll?

Hi! If you're referring to the metal rods (that hold the photo paper) that connect to the expand bars. The expand bars are 1 3/4 inch at there smallest, so if the opening on your metal rods is only a 1/2 inch, then yes they would be too small.
