at 1/35 scale, do you modify the ranges and movement distances at all or just play as is?

I think that I'd modify the shooting and movement range by half. Will need to test this out to see how it would work. Definitely not going to play 1/35 with a large point total game. Will gear most of it to Firefight which will be smaller skirmish and no high armor vehicles.
