9:02 All overlockers feel like that with the presser foot lowered, it's to do with the differential feed - if you raise the foot you will find that the handwheel will turn freely
@AbisDen7 ай бұрын
It’s not to do with the differential feed, you can see that in the naked overlocker videos where I expose the machine :-)

@@AbisDen If you lift the foot and then turn it you will find it spins freely, I have been using overlockers for more than 30’years and it’s always been the case when the foot is down. Give it a go

Hi Abi. Great video. I like the look of this o'locker and a lot of the features you pointed out. Can you tell me where I can purchase the attachment to be able to use the overlocker as a two thread. I'm missing the attachment to use on my Toyota 4 thread overlocker, which I recently bought from a friend. I've looked on ebay and can't find it advertised. Thank you for sharing. Best regards.

Thanks Abi, looking forward to seeing it in operation. Juki is a make I've not had before, so it'll be interesting to see how it performs.

hello Abi I got my machine , I was wondering the stitch width if there's any nobs, not sure if there's one .
@AbisDen Жыл бұрын
Overlockers don’t really adjust stitch width although some higher ends one do now - it’s the knife adjustment.

I have the same serger but is't called Bernina 800DL. At the time Juki was making sergers for Bernina. It's a real workhorse! I am enjoying using mine... On another subject, I have just watched your video on how to use free embroidery software for machine embroidery and it really helped me to understand what embroidery software is for and how to use it. That video is closed for comments so I am thanking you here. Thanks a lot! Alyona

Hi Abi,could you please tell me what kind of light bulb this machine has,is ir regular or led with some kind of special attachment machanism?

I’m A bit confused with seam allowance, is it supposed to include the width of interlock stitch itself or no? The seam guide marks on this model is the distance from the blade and not from left needle and that confused me
@AbisDen10 ай бұрын
It’s very tricky to measure the seam allowance 😅. Yes, the stitch does include seam allowance but to practice , mark up your fabric until you get the hang of it.
@Fattiapples10 ай бұрын
@@AbisDen do you think since the markings are placed further right than the other sergers on your channel on the juki 114, that will make it harder to use as a seam guide? I should get a different machine with the marks having the distance from the left needle? Or it’s hard to use the marks overall and to just gauge by using the marks on the foot or edge or presser foot?

thank you for this video! i picked up this model today and am excited. I noticed I received the juki mo114 DN. What is the difference between this and the mo114 "D" (without the N)?
@AbisDen10 ай бұрын
Nothing. At all. Just their batch production. Janome do this a lot. They remodel the same machine year after year and up the price, inside the machines are identical.

Don't like the knife like that either or no free arm , l like my brother 1034d overlocker but may still upgrade, they have the 1034dx now or the heavy duty one . Not sure which to go for yet ,

Would you recommend buying the Juki 114d or 104d? In this price range, is there another machine you would recommend? Janome? I’m not keen on Brother.
@AbisDen4 жыл бұрын
If you’d like the option of two thread stitching then opt for the 114d. it’s just a teeny gadget you need but the price difference is huge
