@tannerbeckman53965 жыл бұрын
His limiter strap advice is backwards. Loosening it makes your approach angle steeper and makes it trench, which will get you stuck. Tighter limiter strap keeps that approach angle shallower which helps prevent trenching and allows the sled to float better. It also helps keep it straight while sidehilling, too loose and the sled will want to turn up the hill.
@tannerbeckman53965 жыл бұрын
Some more advice i didn't see in the video: With the SHOT start, you sometimes have to hold it for a few seconds before it will start, it's not just a quick push of the button like he shows you. Also, i can't really tell in the video, but make sure the handlebar riser is lined up straight with the steering post (the lower piece it's bolted to), otherwise the steering swing has an awkward feel to it. The ice scratchers also help with keeping the sled cool on the trails by kicking snow up to the heat exchangers under the tunnel. It's a good idea to keep an eye on your engine temperature, and if it starts getting hot, stop and put snow on top your tunnel to cool it down.

not according to the manual but terrain angle is also a consideration. Strap length also affects center spring travel and front end lift on acceleration

@@PullenSmoke maybe a dirtbike comparison is in order, if you ride 125kx or kx 250f and jump on a full procircuit raced built kx500, this sled is like that kx500. It's not the fastest sled but it will try to KILL YOU every time you blast the throttle, you might want to go easy and learn how much room it takes to stop on different types of snow. Also sled thieves have ways around the chipped key, if you dont lock it up good in a shop consider it as good as gone. Sleds left in pickups are the easiest to steal. Thieves back up another truck to yours and 30 seconds, your 20 000 dollar sled is gone. Be smart

When you're in the trail to get to the pow, watch your temp gauge and never let it go above 200 degrees. Rick must've forgot to mention that.
@tannerbeckman53965 жыл бұрын
200 seems high, my old Pro liked to be under 130 and if it got above 175 the temp light would come on. This will be my first year on a Doo and it gives me anxiety that it only has bars for temp instead of a temp readout (it's a T3 xm).
@uavnd94735 жыл бұрын
@@tannerbeckman5396 I have a 16 xm t3 so I'll keep that in mind. What I've read was to keep it under 200 on the doos but I am not sure what the typical operating temperature is
@tannerbeckman53965 жыл бұрын
@@uavnd9473 does yours have engine temp readout? I've read to try to keep it under 4 bars, but not sure what that translates to in actual degrees F. my pro ran at 127 in good cooling conditions, on slow or iced up trails it would creep up and I'd throw snow on it if it got to 160. I may end up buying the temp module so i can see real numbers since that's what I'm used to. $160 though, seems a little steep for what it is.
@uavnd94735 жыл бұрын
@@tannerbeckman5396 yes it has the actual number readout for the temperature and to the left of it in bars too same as fuel guage but on the right. I have it on display and settings are very configurable. As soon as it reached 3 bars it reads 86° and "warm up" disappears off the guage. Mine is a 2016 summit sp 174.
@mikethompson20075 жыл бұрын
Yes he skipped over the fact that sled is NOT for the trails. With no flap, 3"paddles and short tunnel it is made to unload off the trailer and immediately hit the powder. The reps on the promo tour that came through Colorado were honest enough to point that out.
