It definitely looks better with the camera, because there's none of the "computational photography", but the skin smoothing makes it look worse, at least in my opinion. Skin has blemishes. A few blemishes looks nice.

hi! i'm planning to buy a camera as well i did my research and there is sony zvf1 as well i want to ask why did you prefer zv1 and not zv1f i would like to know!

The main difference between those is the ZV-1 has a zoom lens and the ZV-1F has what's called a prime lens. Basically, the 1 has a lens that physically shifts the glass components and lens housing to zoom in on things while still keeping the full resolution and sharpness of the camera's abilities. The 1F's "prime" lens can't do that. Both cameras have what's called digital zoom, meaning they can take the image and then crop it in via software to simulate the effect of zooming in on something, but cropping in like that means you throw away some of the camera's full sharpness/resolution and the cropped image won't be quite as good. Also, as a general rule, prime lenses like the 1F have slightly better image quality, but zoom lenses like the 1 generally sacrifice a little bit of image quality overall to get that more versatile zoom. These quality differences are probably pretty minor and most newbies/casual camera users won't notice them much, but they do exist. If you're not sure which is better for you, I'd say the ZV-1 is a better general-purpose choice than the ZV-1F, because if you don't have a specific plan in mind for how to use a fixed lens, you'll probably find yourself wishing you had a zoom lens instead.

the zv1 will look better than a phone camera. but to get the most improvement in image quality, an interchangeable lens camera is the way to go. or at least the dji pocket 3. the zv1 is still a good camera to learn from.

3:24 the wind wig (or dead cat, or windscreen) doesn’t help with sounds like that. It reduces wind noises, like when you talk in a windy place. Nice video
