Great video exploring what can be done for the hobby from industrial capacity laser cutters. I've fabricated many parts using a similar producer. In my experience fore thinner materials stainless steel tends to hold up finding that thin brass tends to "un-anneal" and distort from the Industrial power lasers. I've had parts run from HO to 1:1.

That makes total sense with the material "un-annealing." I have had that problem when silver-soldering thin brass parts together and after figuring out that it has gotten really soft on me. How thin is the thinnest you found that brass and stainless could be reliably be laser cut without major issues?

I have been waiting for this for years. can you make a video going over the design parameters for making the file you sent them. Was there a lot of back & forth? Did you need to make adjustments?

Next video, Saturday, I talk about that a little more but if you want to see an actual design video I can see what I can do about that. As for the parts shown in the video, I just sent them to Laser Bros and got an email saying "Your parts are shipping" about a day later! The only back and forth with them was when they sent me the video files via Instagram and I thanked them profusely for it! As for adjustments, yes I did send another batch of parts out with a tolerance built in/a few changes to make assembly easier in the future. When I drew the parts initially I completely blanked on leaving ~0.003" gap between the parts so that there was a little play for assembly. Thankfully that was pretty easily remedied with filing, but I factored that in on the new batch. That gets covered in the upcoming video so hopefully, others can learn from the minor mistakes I made but check with your supplier on their recommended design practices for interlocking parts.

Brain fart, I have the video talking about the design changes out already! kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2a4cq2XntWfjqc

I tried using their website but it was super buggy

Really? It takes a little getting used to, but I haven't had any issues.
