So I reviewed the Li444 properly last month whilst I was in Kagga Kamma; but I ended up needing to return that unit back to Flexopower. But I realised once I was giving it back, that it would be something that would be seriously missed in my life. So I asked Flexopower if they would consider donating one to ROAM, to help keep the adventure going out on the trail and at home! Well needless to say, I am unboxing it right here, and giving you an overview of its features! If you want to see my indepth review you can check it out here: iroamstore.com/FlexoReview

And its properly portable which is the best thing about it! Dont get me wrong,, I love my National Luna system and its rocksolid. But I prefer that it lives in the vehicle all the time, you dont want to be hauling a 32kg battery around all the time xD

Enjoyed your look at the power pack, any product that reduces weight and is smaller in size to an existing item in use has to be a good idea in a small vehicle like the Jimny, have you found any information on lower low range transfer gears for new Jimny yet, would make a big difference to the Jimnys offroad capabilities, especially the manual version.

Hi. Thanks for a very informative video. My big headache are camping chairs. After a long trip, you want to sit comfortable. Most of the more sturdy chairs are very bulky. Packing them into the Jimny is soooo frustrating. Any advice? Then just a hint you can ponder about. I had the "smash and grab" film fitted on my windows. You will not believe the difference it makes to the temperature inside your car. Besides that, it also protects the interior of the car. Furthermore I had the "counter vision" film put on the back windows. You know, that stuff where you can look out the window, but it restricts people looking inside. I am also into photography and I feel safer if my equipment is not so visible from the outside.Keep on the good work. Hein

Hi Adrian, I like your honest feedback, and just followed the link to look the price. As a South African now living in the UK, I thought the price was very high. Have things in SA really got that expensive? Do you feel that this unit is affordable to the average overlander?
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 4 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, I think where this little guy falls in is that its not an Overland dedicated product, and its actually only of the only pieces of "Overlanding" gear that I use pretty much weekly at home. I use it to run my computer setup during power failures, I run my livestream every week off of it because I dont have enough plugs where I am in the Garage, I use it to charge my camera equipment on shoots etc too. It fills so many roles in my day to day life, and I think it's just one of those things that needs to be taken into consideration when looking at the price. Also when you pick it up and see how light it is, yet what it can actually power... It's pretty damn awesome!

hi mate i just want to know there is one on takealot and im also in south africa. my question is does the ac plugs work with the south african plugs or do we need to buy an adaptor for them? and i see one comes in the box
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael; the AC plugs work with 2 prongs, but they fall out quite easily and then you will need to adapt to the 3 point plug. Another option is the Jackery 500, it has a display to show you input and output and would be more reliable in terms of voltage for running a camping fridge etc; it actually fixes a lot of things I don’t like about the Li444; but when it comes to small and powerful the Li444 is great 👍🏻
@labourlawact7826

Hi again Adrian! Thanks for your informative videos 😊 This looks like something that can come in handy during loadshedding. Which we are having tons of again for the last few days. Also, what does this cost? Wouldn't it be more cost effective to have a deep cycle battery, and loose standing inverter? That's for the in house use that I'm thinking of. I'm curious to how long it can run if you're drawing 400 watt from it continuously. And the overlanding fridge. How much power does the fridge consume when the compressor is running? How long can this run the fridge? That probably depends on how hard it is working... Stay safe 😊👋👋👍👍
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 3 жыл бұрын
Hey bud; I’ve recently swapped to a different power pack, which I am really preferring for Overlanding/home backup; and it’s basically the same price. It’s called the Jackery 500w Explorer. I’ll be releasing a review on it soon; but it’s my go to at the moment; I left my flexopower at home this trip

So this versus the National Luna battery setup yoy installed a while back?
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 4 жыл бұрын
If it’s purely for overlanding, I would take the National Luna DC-DC for sure. But if you need truely portable power pack, that you’re running between your household uses and for powering some stuff in a tripod then the Li444 is great 👌🏻

Apologies if I have missed it, but how long will this keep your fridge going when there’s no input or solar?
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 4 жыл бұрын
It’s a 37AH battery and a fridge running at its most efficient is 2.5A draw and least efficient is 5A; they cycle on and off so you could be looking at over a full 24hours in a fully charged battery.

Hi Adrian Do you think this pack will work if you only want something to power a National Luna 60l fridge?
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Vindieter; I would rather get the Grey dual battery setup from National Luna if that’s all you need 👍🏻 This little pack does so much other stuff that makes it worth while, that if you just want to power the fridge you will be disappointed

The 12v cigarette Lighter charger isn't the best to charge it up. And the cable is very short. They should come up with a better way of charging it up while driving. 8 hours charge time when driving needs to be reduced to 4 hours like AC gives. On that note I love this thing and use it as my house battery when camping. The 12v cigarette plug at the back is always hot alowes me to run a 40l fridge for 2 nights. In cold day of camping I can run an ac 50watt electric blanket for about 8 hours. Sometime the UBS plugs don't work until you switch on the inverter. Did I say I love this thing. You can plug a solar panel directly into it, no requirement for a regulator. My first one stop charging up and flexo power send a brand new one with another full year of warrenty from my old warrenty. I couldn't believe the no bull shit customer support they have. Since @roam_overlanding didn't buy it he won't know the price. It retails for R8000 but I think flexopower doesn't have stork. I got mine on special for R6000. If you are in gauteng you can rent a flexible 105watt solar panel for R350 per week.

Manie Hak it can run a TV, DSTV and Router for hours. Not sure about a full freezer, because of the wattage of the inverter, but I don’t see why not if the fridge/freezer is within the 400W range
