People don’t realize how addicting our brass instruments are in our lives regardless of skill level. From the time we get up in the morning to the time we lay our head down we’re always searching new ideas we love our practice rooms. Being relatively new to the trombone I can’t wait to play it first thing in the morning learn new ideas and hear the great sound that speaks through my trombone. I share the same passion with my trumpet and find elements of both instruments that make me better on each instruments. The trumpet requires more embouchure maintenance more time resting off the instruments the bone is much more laid back instrument more gentle and soothing sound. The trumpet Is a sprint up a hill the bone is a jog in the park. I love your new flugabone and are so happy you found a new music maker in your life.

The Flugabone is actually a Valve Trombone wrapped up like a Flugelhorn. It's much easier to hold and play, plus they really will allow Marching Bands to recreate that Duke Ellington sound.

Hi. I just discovered your page. I can't believe it. Obviously, I subscribed. IMHO, play the flugabone just like a Bb trumpet (the fingering). I do it. Have you considered doing a video with a Bb Piston Valve Bass Trumpet? You play the BT exactly the flugabone and valve trombone. I would love to view a chops shop KZbin video on the BT (my favorite instrument). Thanks!!!! Love this page.

Yes, there are four tuning slides. One for each valve and the main tuning slide. The pitch is a little funny but I’ll work it out the more I play it.

Looks more like a marching baritone than a flugabone. The Flugabone has a more cylindrical bore with a bell flare more like a trombone. This should have a mellower sound-more like a cornet or flugelhorn. Enjoy!

This is the Olds model flugabone. The King 1130 is the only true flugabone but Olds did make a more compact model, that’s this horn. The bell is smaller then a marching baritone.
