Unboxing My New Super Lightweight Exige Wheels - HRE R101LW - Hell Slow Project Part 6

This is Part 6 of the series (I'm still editing part 5, it'll come very soon), my new wheels have arrived from HRE Wheels in the USA and I'm over the moon with them. They're 6kg lighter than the Lotus Forged wheels I had before and the finish is called "Stone Clear".

Loving the content keep it up! Test drove an exige before the Emira test event and it definitely wasn’t for me. Too cramped! So sticking with the Emira!

What was the unsprung weight saving compared to stock and can you feel a steering improvement.

Money is to be spent. I get both schools thought. I ride a road bike and have had two exige. MyGerman hand built carbon wheels were 3000 GBP. They transform the ride. And it’s only a humble bike

Have you ever curbed a wheel? Those should come with a butler to help you out when parking

Never in my Exige, I don’t tend to park in any places that put the wheels at risk… and I’ll be even more careful now!

Only over priced by 8k. Lol. Nice but are they lighter than the lotus forged ones? Mine are a different size 16/17's, but I'm pretty sure they are lighter than these.

The HRE are 6.4kg front, 7.2kg rear OEM Lotus Forged are 6.8kg front, 9.5kg rear These wheels are quite a bit bigger than Elise wheels, the rear wheel for example is 18" x 9.5J. The price is a lot, but they're a custom wheel made to my specs, the quality is a level up on anything else as you'd expect and the mass produced Lotus forged wheels are £2800, so I'd say these are about the price point you'd expect for HRE, which is a company with a great reputation.

@@GFWilliamsnet I mean Enkei RPF1 weight 7.8kg at 18x9.5" and cost $355 pop, but hey if you want to pay $7600 for 2.4kg weight difference :D (I know they are not forged but still)
