Unboxing my Plotter(s)

Hello again,
I finally have made time to finish editing this video. My new job has started getting busy, so I haven't had a chance to edit much lately. I filmed on 3 separate days, and after purchasing the 5th Anniversary edition, it made sense to just have it be one longer video. I'm so glad to finally share my thoughts with you. I love it! I am still looking forward to the One Piece Hobonichi. But I'm not sure how I'll use that one now that I have the Plotter. I
I'm sure I've asked this already, but what are your thoughts on rings vs strings?

One of the best tips I was given was that when you use inserts from other companies to trim some of the edge off near the holes that way they will fit and turn better in the 11mm rings.

Plotter are superb. I agree with Jessica below for the tip of trimming the Filofax inserts down near the holes. I have done this and it helps a lot 🙂👍🏻 Just 1mm is enough to help them from 'sticking' when you turn the pages.

Love this!! I’m sooo sad I wasn’t able to get the olive one before it sold out, fave color. Love seeing how you set it up, sad to hear that you have had some ring gap issues. Would love to see an update on how these have been working with it! 💖💖

It's such a pretty Olive. I ended up selling my Navy one and haven't had any issues with my Olive one, thankfully. But the person who purchased my Navy one said they could fix the gaps. So I'm glad to know that it can be fixed. I'm also happy to hear that Plotter will fix rings should the issue be too bad. So that makes me feel better about it. :) I've been enjoying this as my planner so far. I'm excited to see how it changes as time goes by. Thank you for watching and commenting. :D

Thank you for sharing! As somebody who has dabbled in rings and didn't like it, you voiced exactly why bound books are better for me. That's really disappointing about the ring gaps. As a premium product, Plotter should really incorporate a way to exchange the rings when the inevitable occurs.

I agree. With the price point, it is a bit frustrating, but their customer service eased my worries, and then ultimately, the gaps are small enough to not cause issues. But if they did get worse, I would consider getting more assistance. I imagine with the bracket, replacing the rings is a bit more complicated. But who knows, they might adjust their product design in the future to make it easier. I'm still happy with it as a whole. :)

I have the A5 Plotter in the shrink leather and surprisingly I really like it. I’m able to keep an entire month in it at a time. I wasn’t sure if I would like it so I went with the shrink leather to keep cost down. I love that I can fold back the leather cover and write like a spiral notebook and I don’t feel the rings at all. I really want to try the Bible size so I will be watching Mercari for your listing. Tell me what is the writing experience like with the Bible size. Do the rings get in the way?

I am still in the babying phase. And the rings only get in the way slightly when I try to write on the left side. But I just turn it a bit. Easy to adjust.

What are ring gaps ? I know it should be self evident but I have three Plotters - including the 5th Anniversary Olive- and I’ve not had any problems. I’m thrilled with the paper quality since I’m a fountain pen user. Getting ready to order the black Liscio Narrow to use as a wallet. Thanks for the excellent review and discussion!

It's something that might happen with some binders. The rings get misaligned, causing gaps. My Navy plotter had them. But I managed to sell it to someone, and they let me know they could fix them. I haven't had any gaps in my 5th Anniversary Plotter, so I am happy about that. And I don't know if it was something I did to cause them. I'm glad you haven't had any issues with gaps. I agree. But I haven't had any issues with the Olive one. And I ended up selling the Navy one but the buyer said they were able to fix the ring gap. I'm not sure if it was something I did, or if there was just a hardware issue. But thankfully, my olive one has been working just fine. :)

It's disappointing that the rings have a gap issue, it's not an inexpensive purchase so I wouldn't be happy having to do a work around. Disappointing because the Fifth Anniversary and rose gold is beautiful!

Yes, I was a bit disappointed at first. I don't know if I did something to cause them on the Navy. I'm happy though, my olive one hasn't had any gaps. I'm being careful but not really babying it. If that makes sense. I love this olive one, it has been so much fun to use. Still, I love Hobonichi!
