That's a big one, wish they'd do something for us guys with skinny wrists because I really like it

Something that I will definitely mention as a part of my review m8 because I agree. I'm sure they have enough in the way of production funds to be able to put out a model in different sizes, though with this particular release it sounds as if they are going for a more traditional size for a flieger of that time period wwii

A tad big for me but a 3/4mm smaller and I’d definitely rock that, nice. Keep up the good work Chris 👍👍

Thanks Simon! Yeah definitely a biggen but apparently a lot of fliegers back in the day were. I don't know too much about pilot watches though I do like them

Nice looking piece I look forward to the Hawker hurricane history lesson & what the JX🎯B means in the full review 😄 Us Brits will be watching carefully!!! 😂

No pressure then! They have a press release (shown on vid here) but not too much is said about the design details. Hopefully when it is out on Friday and available to purchase online there will be more info on the website :)

Good-looking watch. I have reviewed a few in the past. They make very nice watches.

Yes I think between the two big brands that Dartmouth has Spinnaker and aviate I prefer avi-8

Another awesome looking watch. I love the details like the camouflage pattern on the dial and Arthur Clowes Squadron letters. Some of the old fliegers were pretty big. I know Zenith's Pilot Type 20 is 45mm. Not for the faint of heart 🤣🤣
@WINDINGCROWNS2 жыл бұрын
True. Even the IWC, Laco etc are big. Pilot watches get a pass 😂

Thanks Andrew not for the faint of heart for sure!

Nice 🎯! 😂 This is a type B as the type A is a more traditional 1-12 Arabics.

Yep I looked it up after doing the fliming and added a subtitle to that section....Hopefully the movement in mine settles down and doesn't act wonky. It was fine out of the box, movement stopped after sitting idle, wound it, and the seconds hand was stuttering....we shall see what happens

Love that crown also! Does it hand wind? It may be another clue to what the movement is. 7s26 doesn’t hand wind
@MirrlyonTime2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jamy, yes when pushed in it hand winde

As you pointed out in writing Chris, this is a Type B. Type A's have regular hour markers on the outer ring and Type B's have the minutes there and a smaller inner circle with hour markers usually. And by traditional flieger standards, the 46mm size is at the lower size spectrum :). Some of them were 55mm+. Now I am really confused by the movement. I think there is a typo on their website or they just put a different movement in this prototype. I don't know any 24 jewel non-hacking Seiko movement. If it had 21 jewels, it could have been the 7S25 or the NH25 or possibly the NH15 (although not sure why they would use a small movement for this). Those are the only non-hacking recent Seiko movements I know of (not even 100% if the NH15 is non-hacking, but i suspect so).
@MirrlyonTime2 жыл бұрын
I suspect it is the same movement in my SNZG13 as this one does have a ghost day and date position I don’t recall what movement is in that one
@jamesblonde22712 жыл бұрын
7s26? The old seiko5 mvmnt
@AnCar882 жыл бұрын
@@MirrlyonTime The movement in the SNZG is the 7S36 if i recall correctly, which is a slightly different version of the 7S26 with 2 more jewels (so 23, still not 24 as they claim on the website). So the AVI-8 has a ghost day position ?
