Thanks for sharing all of this, bud. Mine should arrive next week! Any issues?

I've had no issues with them, bit heavy to move around after I filled them with sand.

Are they Alloy Steel? Thanks.

The Monoprice description just says powder coated steel, not sure what type. Seems to be holding up well after 2 years in a basement.

The holes on the top of the posts did not line up with the top plate. The posts were crooked/bent. Its possible to slightly adjust the posts by unscrewing and positioning them differently before screwing back in, but that wasnt enough to account for the extreme crookedness that didnt allow me to screw in the top plate without bending all 4 posts, which puts enormous strain on the screws holding them in place. Hopefully the strain of bending metal with weight on it holds up okay. They're pretty sturdy stands otherwise, so maybe that will make up for the flaws. Its probably typical of speaker stands of this price-range. It was hard to find a product that didnt sound like a scam based on the reviews.

Wow, that would not be good to discover. If you bought them from Amazon did you contact Amazon support? They are very good at correcting defective product issues. Mine went together with few issues and are holding up well. I picked them because I kept seeing the same stands in use on many other KZbin videos.

Hi, stands look pretty solid ! Great video. Can you say what do you think about Diamonds 220 ?
@TrippinGnome3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I find the diamond 220's have been a good solid relatively inexpensive speaker. They are fairly old now, several newer generations of the diamond line have been made. To me they sound fairly neutral, but with only a 130mm woofer they can not create big bass. So a sub-woofer may be needed if music with a lot of bass is your preference.

@@TrippinGnome Hi, thanks for a reply. I am using Tannoy Revolution XT8F's so bass is not a problem. But I am kind of speaker addict - have lots of different models. I always was curious how 220/225 series sound like.I found previous generation sounding little bit muddy with no detail in treble, but this could be improved with the ones you have. Keep rockin'! @@becin2107 Upper end seems ok to me, sometimes a bit harsh straight on. Lower end was an issue, I started off trying to match a sub in at 60hz because they are supposed to go down to 56hz and ended up letting the sub handle everything from 80hz down. I used Room Equalization Wizard to match the sub to speaker levels. From what I am seeing the new generation Diamond 12. are supposed to be really nice but for now nowhere to go give them a listen. Be well!

Not showing speakers on stands...priceless

Does the sand leak out?
@TrippinGnome3 жыл бұрын
No leaks, once assembled the bottom of the columns seem very tight.

@@TrippinGnome Cool, thanks for replying. I'm going to give these stands a try and see if they can work for some humongous speakers. I've got a pair of Arendal 1723 THX Monitors coming in today that weigh 60 pounds each and are 11W x 16D x 25H. That might be a bit too much speaker for these stands but hopefully filling them with sand will make them sturdy enough for the job.
