Love the education on jaspers. I really like the two big green ocean jaspers, the colors are amazing, and the shine. Thanks for the rock talk.

Jasper grades to agate grades to quartz on concentration of impurities in the fluid being deposited. The clear areas are quartz crystals & on the rough would be fingers grown together on the tops of plumes in the center of the veins.

Hello just want to clear something up, Agate by definition has banding. There is a lot of chalcedony that has no banding and fits the description you are giving. As in the translucency. Jasper forms in a similar way as agates and chalcedony but is typically red in color. These ocean jaspers are very unique due to their color variations. Great video all around. SiO2 is pretty amazing imo and I love all the variations we get all around the world.

Jasper, colors are said to have differnt healing qualities. My favorite is the Solid Chunky Red, or Green. I have an Arrowhead that is redish, greenish, & brownish, & puts all other Arrowheads to shame. It would seam that a solid, pure color, is much rarer than any other kind? Chert, is the best gem, for hand held rock therapy. Mini Statues,🦖 & Effugies,🐢[are made for Jasper artists to create]! I.M.O.

you guys are hilarious. you might have some extrememly low grade kabamby. the term ocean jasper is a trademark for enter the earth mines and sells. its not mined when the tide is out, the original kabamby mines are dug out. the remainder in minedn the marovato area. fraking educate yourselves, it takes 30 seconds to google enter the earth and learn the facts instead of making up whatever you want 😊😂😂😂😂

Our info comes straight from the guy who mined it

It's truly incredible that these commenter's just believe everything that the first result on Google tells them 😂😂😂 That's gotta create so many absurd problems in their lives
@avaphoenix3179 ай бұрын
@@gemsno it didnt. If you aren’t sourcing from enter the earth “the guy who mined it” then you don’t have ocean jasper. its a trademark name. You claim when the tide is out, the original kabamby mine was depleted over a decade ago. So you are not buying your current lot from the guy who discovered that because he’s dead. You look stupid to actual people who deal in icean jasper.

@@chrism4008I referred to google because it’s a simple search engine to google enter the earth and inform yourself if basic facts regarding ocean jasper. In terms of myself, I could write a book on ocean jasper. Oh wait. I did.

@3:16 still completely avoided a very simple answer to a question how do you draw the line between Jasper and agate!!!!! Not how do you draw the line between ocean Jasper, and other Jasper, or ocean Jasper and agate no!!!!! JTV just completely refused to tell us the simple difference between Jasper and agate in general!!!! So no anybody that is new and to gemstone collecting or even just educating yourself I would suggest if JTV says it's agate it may not be nfj TV says it's Jasper it's probably less than Jasper!!!!!! Just saying!!!!

Please remember, this is a conversation. They won't provide the complete definitions each time. Jasper is an opaque, fine grained species of chalcedony comprised of myriad microscopic quartz crystals intermixed with various impurities. Jasper can come in any color and it takes on many appearances. Agate is the term used to describe the banded form of chalcedony. The term also covers translucent chalcedony varieties like moss agate, dendritic agate and phenomenal varieties like fire agate and iris agate. Ocean jasper is a variety of orbicular jasper. However, since ocean jasper is translucent, many consider these to be a form of agate. We include a link to gemstones.com with each video, where you can learn more. Have a nice day!
