Looks indentical in several respsects to the Kongsheng Boogieman KB-12. Same mouthpiece shape on the housing, same screwed-on metal backing plate on the front of the comb. What I can't tell from this is how the slide spring works, or the shape of the backing spring that holds the reedblock in place. Those are two areas where the KB-12 has improved on the CX-12 design

I haven't tried the KB12, but they do look very similiar! I can try to get some shots of the spring and how it works so you can compare.

. @woelneberg The spring on the KB-12 is like a traditional chromatic internal spring, but mounted on the left side so that the left end of the slide presses against it, similar tow what the newer high-end Seydels do

@winslowyerxa8505 Seems like it's the same on the Easttop. I just posted another video testing the intercompatability between the CX and ET 12. Doesn't work because the different slide mechanism as you have pointed out.

That harmonica sounds wonderful. I have an Easttop chromatic which is also quite a good harmonica, but to be honest I've got on too well with it. I've been spoiled by playing tremolo harps too much. When you get used to separate holes for blow and draw notes they seem very close together. On the rare occasions I pick up a chromatic I go for my BJ Blues harp. It's laid out like a tremolo but with a button. I am quite impressed with this one so far.

Easttop make some good harps. Gotta give them that! I never heard about that harp before. Bj Blues?

@@woelneberg The B.J. Blues is a Chinese harmonica very much like the "Tower" harmonicas. It looks like a tremolo but is a chromatic with a button.

That is a cool harmonica. I've never played a chromatic harmonica yet. I should get one. Looking forward to your review..

Thanks Paul! I am growing more and more into a chromatic player even though I started on diatonic. It's a powerful little instrument!
@paulcook68 Жыл бұрын
@@woelneberg I betcha the diatonic seems small after playing the chromatic?
@woelneberg Жыл бұрын
@paulcook68 Oh yes! Going from a 16 hole chromatic to a diatonic is noticable. The harmonica feels unrealistically small in comparison!

I'm looking to start playing the chromatic harmonica. Is this ET12 better than the T12-48NV2.0? I would like to know if the ET12 is easy to use for beginners.
@woelneberg2 ай бұрын
The ET12 would be a better choice, but personally I would go for Dream 2.0 if Easttop is your brand.
@NXBTRabgrdАй бұрын
@@woelneberg Is it from a performance perspective? Or is it from a cost performance perspective? What are the advantages of Dream2.0?
@woelnebergАй бұрын
Dream 2.0 seems to be the same harmonica with valves so it's from a performance perspective. It will sound and perform better.

I'd be curious if the housing is interchangeable with the CX12.

Is the slide reversible?
@woelneberg10 ай бұрын
No, it's a spring mechanism. I don't recall seing an option for switching sides.

Very nice harmonica. Better than Kongsheng KB12 Boogie.Man.
