Greg, thanks so much for your review and appreciate your kind comments! With regards to the mic, we do find that the proprietary processing on consoles, especially with Xbox, greatly affects microphone quality, in a bad way most of the time. In fact, we did a podcast (with Sir Mix A Lot) where we used the Model One mic - all we used was slight compression, noise reduction, and EQ in post-production, similar signal processing even with our EV RE20 pro mic ($400) and found it to be quite good. here is a clip of that podcast: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaHCh6ppgqyel80 and you can hear the Model One mic in action! Spirit with good headphones is so night and day, particularly regarding how well the headphones give you the directional output. Great spirit play! I'll have to look into that headset, been unhappy with my recent pair lately.

The creators said the focus was SOUND, the only thing that makes it a gamer headset is the chat mic. However most of us gamers like me already have a Yeti X or rode mic

The mic probably sounds bad due to limited bandwidth over wireless through the controller. I'm definitely interested in this headset, but not at $349. There are cheaper headsets with great sound like the Audeze Penrose that have more features (wireless) for less money.

Audeze Penrose and hyperx orbit , both are the same build and spec .. and both are amazing but with ONE BIG FLAW : they both breaks at connection of the headphone and the head band . its a very common issue on these headset , but they don't cover it on there warranty .. look it up ...

Let me save you the headache. I Love my Penrose sound but I want to pull my hair out with all the cracking and disconnects. I've tried the "suggested" fixes but nada. Just a shame. That why I'm buying the VZR one

@@stelonous The focus of headphones is to have the best sound quality if you want features just get Steel Series Arctis Nova Pro wireless. Features are a gimmic it's all about sound and audio quality.
