I am thinking about adding this to my Ryobi collection, so very good to see an unbiased and open review and test, thank you... 👍🏻

Thanks for the comment Venomator. I've still got half a dozen or so new Ryobi tools to unbox and review, so stick around and they'll be coming out soon.

If I had Ryobi gear I'd definitely look at their 18ga brad nailer. It looks awesome. If I already had the batteries like you have, I'd definitely get it. I think you'd like it with the way you work fast.

I’ve got a nailer. I’ll have to do an unboxing soon. I’ve had it months!

It's supposed to be one of the best battery ones about for any money. I fancied getting onto Makita's battery platform but one of the main cordless tools I like to use is the brad nailer and theirs is supposed to be rubbish considering the price.

Looks like a decent drill! I think thay torque is ideal because you're only putting a small screw into pine. If it was a bigger screw in harder wood, it'd be more where you'd expect it. I hear great things about Ryobi, but when I was gearing up they were just too close in price to all the major names. Kinda gutted now because I'm left with a load of Aldi gear. I have decent corded stuff though for when I need precision.

That’s a great point. I think I’m gonna do a test into some hardwood and see how the clutch setting work out on hardwood.

I reckon these might be Milwaukee under the skin. They're both made by a parent firm called TTI.

Looks like a useful bit of kit especially with that 5ah battery. I'm surprised about the flex in the body though 😦

Cheers Phil. I think some tougher plastic or metal in the body would solve the flex. Ways to keep costs down I suppose.

I see you had to re-tighten the chuck. Was that a one time deal or have you had to tighten it more? They did a poor job of locking the left handle in place. The molded plastic case is just not strong enough on it's own. But at that price, I can give them a pass.

Yeah it slipped the bigger drill bit. I think I thightened it up properly first time and it wasn't due to a loose chuck. I think it could be indicative of a poor chuck. That said, it didn't happen again after I re-tightened it. But I'll keep an eye on it, as it shouldn't have slipped and it shouldn't need a massive squeeze to stop it spinning. Most people's hands aren't as big as mine and most people aren't as strong., so it shouldn't need hulk hands to tighten it up. It should be okay with the amount of pressure I put on it first time around. I'll do follow up videos in the future, after I've used these tools for a while. So if it keeps happening, I'll definitley mention it in those videos.

@@essentialhandyman The follow ups are important. Many do not do them. Hopefully when you do, it will be with high praise :)
