This is how diamonds should be shown in their natural state; untreated and apreciated for their god given beauty. I didn't know diamonds came in bicolors either Rebecca and every last one was beautiful. My favorites are the salt and pepper and the starburst but the animal shapes wow just amazing!. Thanks Andrew for bringing your wonderful collection and sharing them with us.

What a FANTASTIC video!! These were so gorgeous and it shows how special ALL diamonds are! I’m so glad I found this- can’t wait to purchase the book for my students- it goes to show there just isn’t a bad purchase with any diamond- it’s always an investment for so many reasons- personal and financial!! ❤️ 💎

Thank you for your beautiful comments!!! Ruff is excited to get into the classroom himself in book 2, currently being written!!!
@wasd____ Жыл бұрын
For the average person, a diamond is a terrible purchase as an investment. No jeweler will buy it back for anything _close_ to what you pay as a retail purchaser. The commercial gem diamond world wants diamonds to be essentially disposable; once purchased at a high retail price, the market is set up so they have little resale value. Unless you're a connected dealer who can get them at wholesale and flip them, you buy a diamond for sentimental reasons, not investment reasons, and expect to lose essentially all the monetary value you put into the purchase. Period.

I have been more interested in colored gemstones, but seeing these kinds of diamonds are interesting the starburst and the animal collection is outstanding ! And I do agree, though they have less fire, I prefer the old cuts of diamonds.
@disideratum2 жыл бұрын
I hope this video might inspire lapidary artisans to incorporate unique diamonds like those into their works and in turn create more of a commercial demand. There have probably been so many unusual but gorgeous diamonds like those discarded for not being "commercially viable". Takes the phrase "diamond in the rough" to a whole new level! Btw, that starburst octohedron looks like a holographic recording of the birth of the universe. The Big Bang Diamond🎆

A true blessing. Both do enjoyable but also adorable. They could be a thing. Some chemistry there. I have a ruff the free standing picture jasper dog. 3 months ago I tried cleaving off a large chunk. I have some diamonds i found in a farm field in michigan when i was walking my dog and we were looking for some deer tracks. They were sooo beautiful, so i took them back and cleaned them up. I took them up to a local jeweler to have them tested. I was so excited when she tested several very large diamonds and she said they were real diamonds. I did some research and found out that michigan had a lot of coal mines and some known kimberlite pipes as well. I looked a little deeper, and found out that Michigan also had volcanic activity. So the chances of finding them here are great. There are many kimberlight rocks all around there too. I also found a two piece meteorite in the same field. Please Let me know if u may know anyone who may like to purchase some. GIA charges per carat and i really don't have that kind of money right now. Thanks, Cheryl

8:28 half of it looks like a deep orange. When cut and polished it could yield a fancy vivid orange or fancy vivid yellowish orange diamond that weighs 2 carats more or less. It is worthy to be cut & polished! But I bet the reason why they didn't polished it is because they can predict that the final outcome would be an orange diamond with brown overtones. Without that brown overtones they will surely cut it!
