I bought one or these after watching the videos thinking I wouldn’t need to buy another one. After waiting 3 weeks with no tracking details I got it and it worked good for the first 35 welds, after that it didn’t even went to boot up anymore. Said my battery was low even being charged for 4 hours. No power going to the leads. Spoke to the company and they sent me a defective board to replace and that took 2 weeks to come. Then accused me of wrongful install when I shouldn’t have to install a product that shouldn’t be broken. After I checked out the 2 boards I realized that the new board had 2 clips soldered wrong and it was shorting out of welder. All in all I’m pretty done with sequre as they really don’t understand that customers are the ones that make the company, not the other way around.

I also think it looks like a Malectrics. Would be nice to see a tear down. Also, IMPORTANT, you should not weld at, or too near the center of the neg end of the cell, as that is where the internal connection is.
@paulnobody80503 жыл бұрын
You should get Malectric... This is POS. Not worth buying and if you want to return when you see welds are NOTHING but a tack and DO NOT BUILD BATTERY REQUIRING .2M NICKLE AND EXPECT SAFE RESULT.

What do you think of all the handheld spot welders on AliExpress? The ones with a built in battery for $30-$50? Most of them say they can weld up to .15mm-.2mm nickel. Do you have any experience with them?

Do they make mains powered versions? Preferably one that can handle both 120V and 240V (or just 240V for my requirements)
@shimes4243 жыл бұрын
If they did it would be more expensive than using a battery setup. Spot welding needs a lot of DC current so storing it in a DC battery is cheaper and easier than using large enough caps and switching circuitry to use AC input power Although I've never spot welded before, but I suggest using a meady 12v 16ah LiFePO4 battery. Only $55 for 200Wh and it can do 500w continuous (40A) maybe more if you replace the internal BMS Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries can output so much more power without voltage drop. From what I've learned, voltage drop is usually what causes bad spot welds, so not powerful enough battery causes voltage drops, abd many things can cause that from battery type, size being too small, not enough charge on the battery, age, ect.

that is good high quality welds unlike what is used by the hoverboard scooter batteries. if you can pull the welds apart easily then they are not good welds if you strip out the philips screws then you are done because stripped screws are difficult to remove you may want to practice on dead cells so you dont have to grind off good cells if you are going to welding a lot you will need a battery that can handle very high burst currents because seeing how the battery leads twitched when you welded you are probably drawing hundreds of amps in bursts.

@SequreTech3 жыл бұрын
The pulse time can be adjusted by spot welding different thickness nickel strip. You can start with 5ms pulse time and slowly turn it up. Up to 500ms Find a suitable pulse time. Of course, the pulse time is also related to the discharge coefficient of the battery you use.
@bulldozaaa93532 жыл бұрын
This can be adjusted, but from experience mine went out after about a week. Remember that it’s going to take weeks to get warranty if you can even get warranty. I don’t recommend this spot welder for longevity. I took mine apart and it was poorly soldered and was pretty bad quality. If you can get your hands on a k-weld you should.
