In terms of performance, at the moment, MacBooks are superior, as are they in terms of productivity because MacOS has a ton of useful productivity apps that are very high standard and do not run on other systems. Many apps are optimised for MacOS and run very good on the hardware. Even Windows itself runs often faster in a virtual machine than on usual Windows laptops with equal or even better specs. You don't have many compatibility issues, especially with an Intel processor and overall the hardware and what you get in terms of quality is great. I have for example never touched a better trackpad than that on my MacBook. I like it so much, I use the trackpad more than my mouse. The display is amazing, the battery as well and they comfortably beat Windows laptops in that regard. MacOS is also not as restricted as you might think. I would say it's comparable to Windows (have not yet made my way towards the deeper system yet, though). You can side-load apps and all work pretty fine. I have encountered a few bugs here and there with MacOS. Still, I would not want to switch to sloppy Windows any time soon anymore. To talk about Gaming, the current processors are so fast that they are able to run games pretty good, not comparable to high end gaming laptops, sure, but that's still not the aim for MacBooks. MacBooks are aimed for productivity and in that, they are very useful and Gaming will be more and more common on MacBooks, especially since you are now able to run most Steam games under Linux and therefore most likely also on MacOS

But I recommend you downloading ggos but be aware you have to set drivers it gets way better fps than normal windows some guy said in valorant before it was 150 after 300 . I feel a little silly buying an mba m2 but not really because most other windows laptops around the same price point still have 8gb ram so it’s not just apple ripping people off. Also if I want to do heavier workloads I’d rather just get a decent desktop setup with 16gb ram and at least 512gb ssd or even 1tb for $1,000-$,1,500aud is cheaper than this and mbp 16gb ram. I can tell you right now any Microsoft surface is not worth it. They don’t last long term because they don’t have a fan, and they are certainly not good for gaming. My MacBook Pro M2 is better at gaming than my Microsoft surface. Yeah that’s right, come at me PC gamers. I know what I said.

my asus 1500 dollar laptop has the same processor, almost same graphics card ( rtx 3050 4 gb) , same ram,,,,, just doesn't suppport touch screen, no pen, and not 4k (its 1920× 1080),,,,,,, i think the laptop in the video doesn't worth 4k dollars at all,,,,,, it should have core i9 12 gen to justify this price

Short answer: no. Rip off. I do commercial IT. Surface laptops SUCK. The guy talks about the excellent build quality…. Ok. Tell that to your thermal-throttled i7 at 1.8ghz and shit drivers.

How do you get the price up to 4000USD? Even with all accessories, xBox game pass, Microsoft 365 family subscription for two years and the 400USD premium insurance the price ends up being at 3300USD. Just the laptop at those specs is 2300USD. Oh and the Pen is included in any but the base model. And always has been. No idea if he is lying or just got scammed.

4k.... Like what the hell... Trying to think of the kind of PC you could build with 3K and then still have a thousand left over to get a used surface pro 7 or 8 or something.
