@@papaj4282 Ive never used the MAX4X but I would assume it’s around the same quality or better.Ive use the original black max and the Max X and they we great budget reels. For the Abu rods the veritas is my favorite but I like the vengeance as a budget rod. Look on scheels or walmart.com I always see deals for abu stuff

@@n-tboookechuku2882 use 12-15lb seagur red label, most recently Ive switched to pline but the red label works great for a good budget fluoro

not sure but I've heard a lot of great things on the stx and can attest to it. I have never used the max pro. Honestly all of the max reels are great. Still have the reel after a few years and it's been great.

What line is best for this reel. I have one. Using 20lb braid right now

If you use braid 20-30 is good. But I only like to use braid for frogs or flipping/throwing jigs everyone is different, though. I think Ideal for that reel 15-17 lb mono or 12-15 lb fluoro. That gear ratio ideally Id throw mostly for chatterbaits, crankbaits or spinnerbaits.

What is the little orange bar that can be pulled out used for?

Orange bar usually either helps support the line guide on top of the reel but mostly it's for reel structure holds the left plate firmly into right side of the reel. When I clean my reels you unscrew that orange bar to get the left side of the reel off.

Both are great. Not sure on the combo rod. I bought the two separate. The veritas rods are great. Had some issues with guides. I really like the reel. Its great at the price point. Only thing I would change is flip switch can be bothersome. But reel performance has been great. Yearly maintenance and it will hold up well.

Its a 6:4:1 Gear ratio so its good for crankbaits. I like a more Medium moderate action rod but I use medium heavy fast alot because it is multi purpose.

You would need to buy a right hand reel. With baitcasters the arent interchangeable. But they have both left and right hand available.

Hello Jupiter now are you doing man. Happy Memorial holiday to you and your family. I hope you enjoy the holiday man. That was a nice 5 pounder that you caught. That's a nice baitcaster that you got man. Fishing for me has been cut off for a lil while. I went kayak fishing with a co-worker a buddy of mine last Saturday & my body started to overheat & got dehydrated real fast in 96°degree heat with no shade on the water. It was supposed to be 96°degree by 5:00 in the afternoon. So my coworker and Buddy sided to call it quits for my safety. I tell you man being 96 degrees & me being a chubby fat dude at 300lbs do not mix well. I got sunburn really good on my face , my arms , my legs , & my feet. My 3th son John said I look like a Red Lobster with my big feet being red & my toes look like red shrimps with my toes nail being the shell because of my toes being straight across & very fat & very wide. So everybody is now calling me Red Lobster. & and the fact that my wife took us kayak with her co-workers family I'm burnt even more now to the point that I can't even drive , walk , stand , can't put my flip flops on because it hurts my feet if anything touches it including sunblock medicine & the same for my arms , & got pain running up and down my legs from hip to my feet. All of this for just one fish on Saturday. But I don't feel too bad cuz my buddy he only caught one fish too and my coworker he's skunk without on Saturday. I just thought I'd share my last fishing trip with you man. You take it easy buddy and I hope you have a better week then me cuz I won't be driving my truck 🚛 for a week.

stx is an upgrade from the max x. I would get the stx. But for only a 25 more Id get the revo x.

no it's for fresh. I'm sure you could use it but the amount of cleaning wouldn't be worth it.
