Watching train videos with my 5 year old grandson when I saw your KZbin channel name. I lived in Bernie, Missouri, from 1964 till 1972. As a high school student, I worked at the Dexter Walmart. It had just opened. What a small world! I left for college in KY, married a guy from NC, and ended up in NC after he graduated seminary. My parents left Bernie in 2004 to come live close to me. I haven't been back to Bernie since 2004. The good ole Bootheel!

​@TheRailwayProductions as a teenager, I hung out with other teens at Belle's Freeze Queen in Bernie. It may be called something else now. My dad was Joe Masters. He was the pastor at the Bernie Alliance church for over 30 years. I think the church is called the Community Church now. It was on Walker St. When we first moved there from Oklahoma in 1964, there was nothing but cotton fields in front of the church and parsonage. Walker Street was dirt and gravel. After a few years, they finally paved the road and the government built apartment housing where the cotton fields used to be. I remember the mosquitoes were quite large and plentiful. As to the train, I remember laying in bed at night with the window open for any breeze, and hearing the lonesome whistle of the train going through town. There were some wonderful people in Bernie...salt of the earth.

@nanaobx Sorry for the late reply but that place you hung out at is now a Mexican restaurant and just a few weeks ago when the real life version of this train in this video came through I filmed it a Bernie and it was just amazing seeing it fly through there

All the magnets are on the bogies to help it go through points without cross-tracking, and to help it go round corners. That extra plastic piece under the cab to help it corner is great idea.

I've got one off of Etsy in 2022. It's way less detailed but still is a good toy. Tbh if this restocks I might splurge and spend the money for a highly detailed representation. For explanation on the magnet bogies, it must be what they had in stock so they just slapped them on.

Same here, except for the number boards on the front. I've already made some modifications to the engine.I put new and better hook & eye couplings on, I think that's how to spell it. Most likely got to do with the resources used to make the toy plus time to produce it that makes the price high. Whittle Shortline trains are expensive due to the type of wood used to make the toys. Though with a 3D printer and a few other things you could somewhat remake this in under $50 or something
