I got the OD green micarta version and really like it. It's one of my top 5 favorite knives for sure. Great size and blade shape, and I love the Super Lock! Absolute homerun

anyone coming here a year later - I had the same feeling out of the box. what Rob doesn't like is the tension of the spring (its at the bottom inside the backspacer/lock). once you start using it - it gets super smooth. adding oil is not going to help. the spring needs to not be so tight.

I’m sure it would break in and less tension on the bar would e applied slowing the blade down, but also holding it maybe just a hair bit longer I mean a hair would also reduce that friction.

Why for the love of god would you put PTFE powder (of all things) on that and then even proceed to put oil on it. I truly don't understand it. Care to explain it to this engineer? Because I am totally not surprised with the struggles you got with the open/close mechanism.

It broke in nicely which I believe my review video notes. I came at it from not liking the Vision R to it converting me to be a fan of the Vision FG. So much so that I hope they redo the We Knives version of the Vision!! 🤜💥🤛

I use air tool oil on my knifes and leather man and it works better than anything I’ve used .

Many of the other options aren't even found here, so what I'm left with is mineral oil, do you think it's a problem to use? Another question is whether mineral oil in micarta or G10 reacts chemically in any way.

The sticking lock looked like a common issue on Amazon reviews but I wonder if it’s a tolerance issue or if it’s just been tweaked by civivi. I received this knife yesterday and the unit I got isn’t sticky like that and I noticed when you started applying the oil and moving the lock mechanism that it was making a scraping sound when initially disengaged that mine doesn’t make. The only sound my mechanism makes is when the lock is fully pressed and bottoms out and then when fully released and comes back into contact with the pin. I feel I most likely just got lucky and got a good one, I took the chance and was going to return or exchange it if I got one that stuck like this.

Thank you for sharing your experience! 🤜💥🤛 This was a giveaway, but the stickiness went away before I shipped it out. I think it will likely break in. It could also be oil on the lock bar that could cause it to slide tighter and create pressure to make it stick. In any case, it was fine after use for me at least.

I appreciate your comments of the clip, the initial grittiness of the lock mechanism, and the shape of the lock tab. I like that this mechanism keeps the spring far back away from the pivot.

I can tell you that it is still a bit uncomfortable like the Vision R but it does have gimping which helps.

your finger will be sore for like a day then itll never be an issue again. couldnt tell you why, its not enough time to develop a callus or anything i wouldn't think. my finger tips hurt pretty bad after the first day of fidgeting with my vision r, but now i can do it literally hundreds of times in a row and its not a problem at all.
