This thing is so cool I wanna buy it but at the same time I feel like the whole charm of the Instax cameras is that you wait to see how the picture comes out and always have that cool moment of seeing it when it’s done developing. This would save film tho if you mess up the shot

One thing I noticed is you can send pics from the mini evo to your phone via Bluetooth. You can’t do this on the mini liplay (have to take the pics off the memory card and upload to phone). Also the mini liplay has the audio feature and mini evo doesn’t

Curious to know how some of the LENS EFFECTS are generated - applied, in the case of LIGHT LEAK for example > is it a static never changing image simply blended on photo or is it a Random generated FX so as to never be the same? (which I would vastly prefer). Color Shift? is it always the same or is there a random aspect to it?

I still have my SQ-20 hybrid square cam. I loved it but the look of it was just so ehhhhhh. Personally I’m very happy to see the mini evo. It’s got a sleeker design and less cumbersome. although I’d prefer a square or wide film, I can deal with mini film.

On the mini liplay you can create a custom frame, does this hybrid camera have that same feature? The custom frames were super great for special events

custom frames are available for the Mini LiPlay and the Mini Link Smartphone Printer. The mini Evo gives you lens and film effects.

Fuji already made this exact camera called the "FinePix Instant". I prefer an analog to analog conversion and not a digital to analog conversion, but at least it means instax will continue to stay. Being able to se it as a printer for your phone is nice too. Also it's a lot better looking than the old finepix

I think if they did a analog to analog version would just be targeting consumers who care about stlye to their camera. Fuji is going after the average consumer who is use to digital cameras and probably the smartphone user. Also, I did not find the fine pix anywhere on the internet must be hard to find. Or might be only available in certain countries.

I've been watching this video for the 3rd time to help me convince myself lol. I'm so torn on getting this or just the Sq6. I saw a lot of positive comments on the SQ6 as well, but at the same time, I want something I can keep digitally if ever I ran out of film (it's expensive!). I love how the Sq6 looks and that capturing the moment feels. So confusinggggg ..

I'm interested in buying this camera, it actually seems like an instax camera I have been waiting for. However, I have a concern. As I know, with an analog instax, when you take the picture, the light would reflect directly on the films to produce the images. Where as with this hybrid instax, there is a sensor so I assume the light wouldn't reflect directly on the films with this model? Or is there a way for you to set the sensor aside and let the light reflect directly on the films when you want? Could you make a video to compare the images produced by this hybrid model and the other analog models? Thanks in advanced.

Even if there was a way to set the sensor aside, the lens would not be large enough to cover the size of the Instax film. If you’re looking for a true analog experience then there are plenty of other Instax cameras that will serve that purpose.

It's actually really cool science, but there is an LED diode that looks like a rolling pin that takes that exposes the film. It's actually really nuts and the mechanics of it all is peak Japanese compact sext.

No it doesn't record audio. If this is a feature you are interested you better opt for the mini LiPlay or the new LinkWIDE printer.

Just bought my own mini evo and it seems as though you have to print first before transferring. This is obviously a built in software limitation so that they can continue to sell the Instax film. Honestly it's quite disappointing and I really hope they update the firmware to remove this as a limitation.

Yes. You choose the look you want for your photo. Once you have taken the shot the photo is stored with film and lens effects and other edits applied.

Hey Wendy! The lens is slightly recessed so it won't scratch that easily. There is a camera pouch for the mini Evo that will be available in South Africa from the end of March for further protection.

I don't understand why anyone would want this. The fun of instant film is that you get what you get. You don't have the option of taking a photo again and again to get it right. The flaws become part of the charm. Why get this when you could just use your phone/digital camera and then use an instax printer to print the best one?

It's good for a photography business, like mine. I shoot a lot of clothing/shoes and they want specific colors on film, etc. sometimes for certain drops where they can include prints. I already bought mine as soon as it was available. It's not for everyone. Makes my job easier though, but I also like all the instant cameras out there, most of them.

This way you're getting the worst of both worlds. You're getting the slow pace and inferior image quality of shooting the photos with an instax camera (their lenses are always bad) and you're getting the pain of digital photo sorting to find the best version.

People are picky when it comes to those things. Like I said, it doesn't benefit everyone. I don't see this as a bad thing.
