Unboxing the Lowrey Prototype with Stronger Magnets and the Robertson Fidget Sliders

Thanks for playing with them! On the Robertson, the side that has the "+" on it has the magnets set closer to the surface so that is the strong pairing. If you look closely at the two sides you'll see the difference in depth of magnet set. But if you flip them over (they work in either configuration!) so the + signs are facing out instead of towards each other, then that's super light magnets. In that configuration I guarantee it will feel WAY too light to begin with. But what I found over time is that the + side will let you learn but the other side, the weak side, can be done with finesse. For instance, at first a ladder will just knock the top slider off. But then if you are very deliberate with pushing on the outside corner and pushing into the arc the corner will follow during the slider instead of just pushing until it pivots, it works! In many ways the Robertson made me much better at playing with the sliders. I made myself play with the weak side until I could do everything I normally do without knocking them apart. Sure enough, with much practiced finesse it works. And there are times when I really want that. When I'm on a phone or zoom call I can play with it on the weak side and it's nearly silent. I don't have to explain what the "clinking nose" is all the time! :) Also, if you flip one Robertson over and hold it tightly against the other, then carefully let one side start to come up and then let go, it will flip over and snap back onto the bottom slider. I'm sure there's a video of that on the BCD Instagram somewhere. It's the most difficult thing to get the hang of, and I'm only successful about 60% of the time, but it's super satisfying when it just flips and snaps into place. I just got a Robinson Brass Slider today and found your video to see what other people were thinking. I like the hollow design too as my fingers use the bars to push and pull. I'm finding the spins work better on this than the other sliders. I like the weight even though it is hollow. Great Videos

The dude who makes it told me that it’s like a skill slider. It’s meant to be hard to use so you can use your other sliders easier. Also do you see the plus sign in the upper right corner? That side is stronger than the other side!
