Thank you for the review. I've been considering upgrading from Nox 800 to Manticore and giving my 800 to my gf who started detecting with me. Based on your unboxing and what I've seen of testing this machine with a piece of iron held with a ring, I think I will buy a 900 now and maybe a Manticore down the road in a year or so. You are the first one that has mentioned, that I've seen, that it's a new machine and that's a catalyst to me wanting this detector. You're my go-to for solid and detailed information on Minelab products. Thank you again!

So comparable but really hoping for the new 8" x 5.5" coil for the Manticore and I need to get the 11" round for the XP Deus II so I can compare the Manticore, Equinox 900 and XP Deus II head-t-head all running the same coil! That's the only "Fair" test we can do right now. Thanks for the view, stay tuned for those videos!

@@BrassMedic Looking forward to you testing them. I’m hoping they come out with a small coil for GPX 6000. The small gold I’m finding with that detector with the 14x9 coiltec is unbelievable. A smaller coil should put the Gold Monster out of business.

Yes, I am sure that Minelab engineers absolute TOP Priority was to address the water issues that a few units had in the Equinox 800/600 series. Waterproof is one thing but diving in shallow water is a whole different thing, needs to be tested in both environments. Thanks for the view and question!

I'm sure that's in the works but there is always the issue of proprietary technology and patents between manufacturers. But sure would be nice. My only complaint about that technology is having to charge multiple devices instead of just one, just to have no cables. At the end of the day, the cable on all of my detectors does not bother me or hinder my detecting experience in any way. But the future of new circuit designs is headed to that direction. What is it that you like about no cable wires? Thank you for the view and comment!

No messing around securing the cable around the stem, or risk of damage to the cable. People complain about the Deus 2 charging clips breaking, but correctly alligned before pushing onto the coil isn't a problem. All Equinox range of machines and XP Deus 1 and 2 very capable. You won't miss anything. I've used Nox 800 and Deus 2. Both highly efficient.
