Wii connect 24 I think it was called. You could still play online but with homebrew. And I'm too lazy for that Also mkw in my opinion is better than the wii u version. I got my wii when it first came out. I think I was 15. I remember slipping down the stairs because I ran down it fast as 6 or 7:30 am was approaching. The time when Target was opening. There was a line of course but I signed the sign up sheet hours before so I can confirm my spot so people won't cut in line. Xd

Ah so there is no startup disc. I worked at a Nintendo warehouse during the Wii release. Before the Wii release, we had to install the operating system. So we had a processing line setup with conveyer belts and rollers and auto taper. We had to take the Wii out of the same box as you would see when purchasing the new system. Connect our power and video cables and the wii remote. The engineers gave us some kind of sd cards or similar of. We installed the firmware and ran diagnostics that only took about 30 seconds. I could be wrong, but I remember taking a Startup Disc out of the release box and using that to install the Operating System that took a long couple of minutes and we put the same disc back into the same release box. And then we installed/ran Wii Sports to the game menu system just for an extra measure that the system is running. And put everything back in the box. We were way ahead of schedule and completed a 1 million console goal 2 months before release date. Then I moved to the refurbishment warehouse which was in the same parking lot. Working with Gamecubes, DS, and Advance for repairs. Shortly after I was called from the Wii warehouse to pickup failed wii systems and bring them to the repair teams. This is just what I remember of. I could be wrong. But I am CompTIA A+ certified. And I have installed BIOS using SD Cards and floppies before. This was similar. And I think I remember, if we accidently took a wrong step, "as long as the firmware was installed then the customers should be able to get the system running with the startup disc included".

The reason that there's always a debate between Xbox and PlayStation is because Nintendo can't compete with them. They're original, family-friendly, and classic. They'll win any day.

Also note, Peter Moore worked for SEGA at one point and was the president of SEGA of America during the Dreamcast era. The President of Sega of Japan died and Peter Moore obtained full control, fired a bunch of people, forced SEGA out of the hardware industry and then jumped ship over to Microsoft. He probably was well aware of the XBOX project and both Microsoft and him screwed SEGA over big time. Microsoft basically used SEGA to find out how things work in the gaming industry.

same here, my launch Wii still works perfect and I still play it. I just bought Dead Rising on it... much better then the first 360 version. They got rid of the bullshit camera feature, I hated that. The game is also not buggy anymore and it actually saves with no issues, unlike the xbox version.

sensor bar doesn't record the remotes movements, it just puts out two infrared lights and the wii remote senses those lights on each side. thats why you can find wireless sensor bars because the sensor bar doesn't actually send anything to the console, the remote does. you could even use two candles and it will still work.

I got a preowned system from Gamestop last summer for $29 (after the $20 online rebate). I had finally just opened the box last month to start playing it and surprisingly, I'm having much more fun than I expected. It looks much better in person - especially in its stand than it does in the pictures online. I like its smaller, slimmer and compact size compared to all versions of the Xbox 360's and PS3's. There are good games out there but you'd have to do some tedious searching (but it's worth it - trust me). Most of the games are super cheap now. Good luck with finding the Gamecube games though. Here's my question: How much did it used to cost in early 2009 to 2012? I switched from PS2 to Xbox 360 in Dec 2008 and never looked back (until now).

I'll be honest with you and everyone else, Microsoft gaming consoles are the worse thing that ever happened to the gaming industry. Ya, sure, the games on Xbox are pretty cool and all but Microsoft's mindset was never to favor the customer, but rather it was all about the money. Originally, Microsoft was supposed to help SEGA out, and provide online service, webtv, as well as other features to the Dreamcast. However, they went behind SEGA's back and designed XBOX.

Christmas 2007 I was opening my presents like any other excited 7 year old then I managed to stumble across a huge present from mum and dad for me and my siblings so we opened it up and it was a Wii. So it was my best Christmas. Hopefully going to get the Switch at Christmas.
