Thanks for the overview. This is the right way to release a game! $60 for collector's edition and $30 for digital download. I always thought that digital games should be at least $10-20 cheaper than the physical releases at launch.

I still remember being 5-6yrs old, staying at my aunt's and my cousin and I went across the street to this kids house who had older parents and 2 older brothers who were teenagers at the time. Long story short I remember 3 NES games that glued to my brain forever. 2 golden carts (zelda 1 & 2) and a gray cart with the PCB exposed with colorerful switches on it. Yep, he had it. Never knew it only 20+ yrs later when the world championship craze started on youtube. Never thought Nintendo would fill a revival was needed, let alone remaking the NES championship twice now. Would love to see them create one for every gen.

I live in Japan, so I got the Japanese. We got 2 Famicom controllers that can be used as either joycons or independantly on their own. The cards are different, too. Definitely glad I got the Deluxe Edition, though.

this is really cool, i was considering getting it myself for the NES cart, but its just a replica so can you put a repro-copy of the real champion ship cartridge in the new one? that way you can get real use out of it Edit: maybe make a short video or short on this debunking it?

You would have to modify the new cartridge. It doesn't have any slots to put the cartridge onto, nor it has any holes to stick out the motherboard's pins.

It does have a slot for the pins to stick out--that's the slot where it slides into the acrylic display stand. But you may be right about it not actually holding the board without modification.

@@dirty-moto No, the pins for the board wouldn’t be able to come out without cutting the cartridge case. It has a bit of a slot on the bottom, but no cutout that goes inside the cartridge, if that makes sense. You can get a quick glimpse at 3:32. But I own it, so I can also confirm, there’s nowhere for pins to come out without modding the shell.

Nintendo are not selling the special edition in shops or on other online retailers here in the UK. I had to pre order mine from Nintendo UK's website after receiving an invite. As usual it sold out pretty quickly.

Got lucky beyond luck with this. Tried and tried and couldn’t pre order it so I had accepted that I wouldn’t be getting this really cool set I wanted. Today, went into a Not EB Games(will always be EB to me. No need to more associate it with the dumpster fire that is Game Stop) and asked if they had a copy. Turns out, someone had pre ordered, but for whatever reason returned the mint unopened box. So to my surprise, they sold me that. So, go in expecting just the physical cart, come out with the collectors edition!

If you point me in the right direction, that would be great. The game was like the TV show Dexter and had you hunting down serial killers Manhunt-style.
