I've had the 45mm Lunar Pilot for several years which I wear on a Barton silicone strap. It's beautiful, accurate but it is pretty big and after all this time, I concluded that it is too big. The new model, even at 43.5mm which matches the prototype Bulova that Dave Scott wore on the moon is an improvement but like others, I would like to see the Lunar Pilot reissued at no more than 42mm or maybe a bit smaller because, even at 40-41mm, the sheer girth of the watch would still make it look great on most wrists. I have five Bulova 262kHz watches. The LP, two 96B chronographs (black and almond dials), an Accutron II Moonview and my new found love, a 96B229 military with its amazing, perfectly smooth second hand. It's become my everyday watch but I love all of my Bulova 262kHZ models.

All of that polished SS looks great! Small date window is barely noticeable on the older versions. Not trying to complain, but please look up the correct pronunciation of “Bulova”. I expect that from Britts, but you can do better, 😂 Congratulations on a lovely piece!

When I put into Google "how do I pronounce Bulova" it comes up with a little speak icon, and a drop down for "British pronounciation" and "American pronounciation".. which are completely different.

These beat at 16 time per second! obviously the hand wont show it as its impossible to beat that fast but in its brain its ticking away at 16 ticks per sec to keep that fantastic accuracy. Cheers

Apparently, the movement takes up the whole interior... not like those cheap crappy movements which are mostly plastic spacer.

I think losing the date on the special edition is stupid... especially it being a quartz watch. Sure, it's not as accurate to the original, but come on, all the subdials are not original, they measure different things to the original, and it's quartz, so the date window was the least egregious departure from history. Glad I got the plain version with date.
